I stumbled upon this article searching for an alternative to WPEngine. In the past 6 months using the service I experienced a huge performance boost on my site due to the baked in CDN and their optimization for WordPress. On the other hand I've experienced a lot of issues with server downtime for periods greater than a couple of hours and that has impacted me greatly. Unless I can find another hosting provider with similar offerings I may be stuck with them. Do you have any experience with those listed above, other than MT?

Great idea...The stylus would be great for taking notes, drawing, and more. On the iPad it feels like I'm finger painting all the time.

How about a file system that works and makes sense? I've been using the Chrome netbook and that's one of the things that's so frustrating...I know the concept is the cloud, but still there should locally accessible files in a manner that is simple to use for most users.

Great info, just used your guide to construct my robots.txt. I had not gotten around to it in over 5 years...but this Panda update is really concerning and I want to make sure that the site is squeaky clean for Google. I stuck to the following: User-agent: * Disallow: /wp-content/themes/ Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /cgi-bin/ Disallow: /wp-includes/ Disallow: /author/ Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/ Disallow: /comments/ Disallow: /wp-content/cache/ Allow: / I didn't want to get too crazy and become one of those horror stories where traffic is halved for writing something wrong. BTW Google Webmaster Tools has a small tool that will let you create the robots.txt file which you can download once you are done.

I prefer close to 12-16GB of RAM, running Parallels on 8GB stretches RAM a bit especially if you've got other stuff going on.

Agreed. Wi-Fi N is a must especially if you have these devices scattered throughout the house and don't want to worry about signal penetration and loss of throughput because of walls and other obstacles.

Ignatius, what are you trying to accomplish? If you wish to have somewhat of a files structure for documents, you can use GoodReader () or are you trying to be able to browse the documents stored by all apps in the iPad? If this is the case I'm not aware of any app yet that can do this and it is my understanding that OS 4.0 for the iPad later this year will support what you are looking for natively. Hope this helps.

Steve - Have you tried Ctrl + PrtScn it looks like that combination will get you what you're looking for. Make sure that the Snipping Tool is open though. Let me know if that helps.

That's pretty strange, when you visit the Settings page does the Bookmarks bar appear to be ON/OFF? It should be ON...
