The FN Dish : Brian Boitano Answers Your Questions!

I agree! I haven't watched FN on Sunday mornings since Melissa and Brian went off. Now that I think about it, I don't watch much of FN anymore. I do love The Next Iron Chef and wish there was a blog about it. Today, just about everything I checked was a rerun. And I'm still frustrated with these boards being all messed up.

The FN Dish : A Chat with Melissa d'Arabian

Yea, I tried to post there when it first went up. Something is wrong with Bob's Blog. Nothing ever posts. It all started when FN switched to Intense Debates to moderate.

It made it. The "prize" for NFNS was a six show contract. All six shows aired. Her show was renewed and will be back in January 2010 according to the show webpage.

The FN Dish : Quick Vote - Melissa's New Show

Sheryl, Melissa's "prize" for the Next Food network Star was a six show contract. Then FN has the choice to renew or not. They have renewed the show. If you go to her show page, there is the announcement that she will be back January 2010. Not sure about Brian, but hope he's back too.

The FN Dish : Labor Day Eat-Ins

You're right laura, I don't know what is going on, but FN needs to get it together regarding the website. I posted something yesterday in another forum and instead of my post being the "latest activity", it was sandwiched between pages 1 and 3.

I'm enjoying his show. He never said he was a chef as you state. But he is a cook. I'd much rather watch him than perky, perky Rachael. At least Brian gives out correct information which I can't say for RR. I find him entertaining and his recipes look delicious.

Forgot, not all the personalities on the FN are trained chefs. RR isn't and neither is Paula or Ina. And I seem to have read somewhere that even Mario B. didn't finish culinary school! I do not know this, but perhaps FN is feeling the crunch of the recession like the rest of us. I'm sure it is less expensive to get someone like Brian who is not a trained chef than someone like Emeril.

HI Sandra, I really don't consider him an "expert" in the way I would consider Bobby Flay or Emeril an expert. I do enjoy watching him and think he has some good recipes. I find myself laughing when I watch him because of his great personality. For all the talk from TPTB at FN claiming they want their "talent" to be food experts, they have proven with RR that they don't require being an expert from everyone on the team. Just my opinion.

Fair enough! Those had not entered my mind tonight. Of course, I had a grueling day at work today and I was on call last night as well as tonight. Just praying the phone doesn't ring! I got 4 hours of sleep last night. No wonder those descriptions didn't enter my mind!

Thank you Barbara, I do that too and if this thing were working correctly we would not have to hunt for posts. When I sort by "last activity" the post with the most recent activity should be the first post listed whether that is a response or an original post. When I logged on earlier, the first post was something like 3 days ago and that was the response date. Nothing wrong with that EXCEPT there were two original posts from a few hours ago that were buried on page 2. If I performed at my job the way Intense Debate does, I wouldn't have a job for long!

This blog is crazy! When one sorts by "latest activity" the newest posts should come up first. Guess where they are? PAGE 2. It's like FN doesn't want people to see the newest messages and respond. I know one thing...if I'm ever in the market for message board hosts, it won't be Intense Debate!

Hi Mel, Just ignore them. One of the Jeffrey lovers/Melissa haters even posted a poll about Jeffrey on the Chefs vs City blog. I wonder if they think the more they rave about Jeffrey and the more they put Melissa down, the more everyone will want to see Jeffrey. All they are doing is showing disrespect for the other FN hosts by posting unrelated posts. It's pretty easy to see which blog you are on since it is at the top of the page.
