My wife and I had a "close encounter" with a rattlesnake on July 13th on the trail that was video taped for this story. It is kind of chilling to see these young people walking out into the grass and digging around under brush with their hands. There are signs warning about the snakes, scorpions, and ticks. Sure enough, we encountered one out of three...the one we fear the most. We plan another trip, but this time we will wait until all of the critters are hibernating in the winter. An added advantage is that it will be cooler...how does 60 to 70 degrees sound?
