When i was a young acting student, full of piss and vinegar, brimming over with pop culture minutia and clouded in a university pot haze... it was easy to make similar remarks off the cuff -- generalized, non-specific and altruistic pronouncements of the struggle of the Common Man. But when I became an adult, I put away childish things. I sought real education, and on my own volition and drive, sought out the same. Mr. Ruffalo and his collective-worshipping friends need to get their collective head out of their collective ass and grow up.

Those not of the celebrity caste must wonder what it is like to have worked in the film biz for years... climbed the ranks of acclaim; and having attained that first hint of star status, to finally have attained that public spotlight...and with it, the public microphone. As my fellow acting student and roommate Bruce Smith used to put it..."When you get there...just make sure you have something to say." The focus of fame -- It's powerful. Yet with power comes responsibility -- if not to be profound, then at least to be reasoned and informed. Sadly, as my industry colleague Mark Ruffalo demonstrates, to neglect these two...and not simply shut up and act...is to announce to the thinking world that you are a douche.
