I've been in the insurance business for nearly thirty years. There is no such thing as an insurance monoply. It's a totally free market thing. If one company has a larger share of business in one area it's because they have better salespeople and a better product.

Got an email from my congressional house member on the ways that representatives have tried to improve the health care bill. Here's one of them:

- Prohibit unfair advantages for government-run health plan. The Democratic health care bill would create a government-run health care plan to “compete” with private sector plans that currently provide health coverage for millions of Americans. House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-IN) has warned that a government-run health care plan will compete with private sector health plans “the way an alligator competes with a duck,” and the legislation written by Democrats would allow the government-run health plan to have distinct advantages at the expense of taxpayers and private plan enrollees. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) offered an amendment that would prohibit the Secretary of Health & Human Services from basing payment rates for the government-run health plan established under the Democratic bill on Medicare rates, and instead would require that they pay an average of what private plans in the market pay. The Roskam amendment was killed in committee.

I don't know about you but I call and/or email my representatives EVERY day on the health care issue just to make sure they never forget there is opposition out there. If everyone would do something that simple, even the Dems would be afraid of not getting elected.

I just got an email from my congressional house representative on amendments that were offered to Democrats to improve the health care bill. Among many others this one particularly applies to this article.

- Stop seniors from being stripped of their health care choices. Rep. Brown-Waite offered an amendment that would remove portions of the health care bill that would cut the Medicare Advantage program. Such cuts would impact millions of seniors nationwide, taking away their choices and forcing them into a government-run health care plan with fewer options. The Brown-Waite amendment was killed in committee.

In short, every effort to improve the health care bill was killed! I keep wondering why Dems want a bad bill? Anyone have any ideas?

Our health care system is the BEST IN THE WORLD. Why do people keep insisting it's broken? Oh yeah. I know. The Democrats want to take away more of our freedoms and turn us into a communist country where there are a few "special" people who get everything.

All we need to do to fix the problem is community clinics. Reducing costs is also doable. Stop requiring that hospitals provide free care so they don't have to pass on those costs to other patients.

There is an easy fix to provide health care for more people. Give businesses and individuals who buy health insurance a TRIPLE tax deduction for insurance premiums! Net out of pocket? Nothing.

It's obvious to me that this new health program hasn't had enough planning. They are so busy trying to push the plan through before anyone has a chance to read it, they haven't been careful with what they've been proposing, no thinking through of consequences which has always been a problem with congress. After doing some research on countries with government run health care, I am convinced it will not be any kind of improvement on our current system. I have to ask why Democrats are so determined to believe that our health care system is broken. There's medicare and medicaid and no hospital can turn away non-paying patients. There are also many communities with public clinics for those without health insurance. Even illegals get free health care. Basically, anyone can get free health care. That's better than the problems with a government run system: limited care with long waits for appointments, even longer waits for tests and months and months of waits for treatment. In England, my grandmother died waiting for treatment. Really, do we want to die waiting for care? Obama says he thinks seniors shouldn't be receiving care. Personally, I wanted to kick Obama in the shins when he said that.

Can't believe you still read the New York Times, they're known liars on anything that has any possible connection to political subjects. I've personally caught them in lies a number of times so I no longer believe a word they say.

Why does the president think HE has the right to decide which people will survive? The elderly have spent a lifetime working to make this country better and now they're persona non grata? I have no words horrible enough to describe how I feel about Obama!

We must email, fax or call ALL our representatives EVERY SINGLE DAY to prevent this bill from being approved. If everyone would do this, even the corruptocrat Dems wouldn't dare vote for health care. I've decided that I'm going to do my best to make sure that this state's two Dem senators are in great fear that they won't be reelected if they vote for the bill.

It's easy, go to congress.org, put in your zip code, press enter and your representatives will come onto the screen along with their phone numbers, fax numbers, email address and website.

If we stand together and make those contacts, we can prevent a great damage from coming to this country. Remember Pres. Obama has already told us that seniors will no longer get simple needs taken care of like hip replacements. Seniors should "prepare to die!" I'm so mad I could chew nails.

The answer to your question is that government health care means rationed health care that doesn't take care of the people who are really sick. Plus Governments don't pay their doctors enough to get the good doctors so the overall care is bad. Here's three that I know first hand are bad, England, Russia and Canada.

Go online and do some searches to find this out for yourself.
