<title>Change.gov : Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Transition Team | Join the Discussion: Healthcare</title>
<link>http://change.gov/page/content/discusshealthcare#IDComment11761144</link>
<description>Preventative care is indeed critical. It is hard to imagine a completely private system taking the long view necessary to properly emphasize prevention, without some form of patient lock-in. This is why I&amp;#039;ve come to support public care. I do fear the inefficiencies of bureaucracy, but the insurance system has brought us that without the accountability and transparency we can demand of government administration. Likewise, it&amp;#039;s too easy for mediocre providers to &amp;quot;hide&amp;quot; in the system today, I don&amp;#039;t believe that will be worse under public administration. I normally find myself advocating libertarian positions, but in many ways health is a common concern, and today&amp;#039;s treatment of it is a tragedy we should feel obligated to address. </description>
