All the equipment, all the personnel, all the need to succeed, and all of the goodwill I saw, vs whomever they are fighting. There is no doubt in this observers mind that we, the US, are in a losing situation. The enemy, mostly dressed in raggs, are capable of installing home made bombs where ever they please. I saw a squad of Marines walking away, in discomfort, from a seemingly unarmed group of locals in a small town. Every car that was stoped on the roadway was a potential bomb. All kinds of commercial establishments fail every day with no one to bail them out. It is a lot cheaper to have the feds pay out the depositer's insurance than it is to pay off the bad paper. Once-upon-a-time there were too many auto repair shops. Many went out of business. Same with other commercial enterprises. There are too many bad banks out there with bad investmensts on bad paper. I think that lobbing a few grenads over the side or using a small hand held missle would do the job; the object being for these pests to be missing from their nests. I guess that non-lethal defense courses are a good profit center for the schools. It will not get rid of the pirates.
