Jesus Is Extravagant! : Fortifying Cities

-- i think you misunderstand my purpose... this has nothing to do with unity in the Body of Christ (an important topic that deals with the issues you mentioned). this is about unity within ourselves. giving all of our heart, our habits, our thoughts, our decisions, over the governance of Christ, not leaving little outposts of sin to hide on the borders of our hearts. this is a call to individual holiness, not one to rally the Body of Christ together. i am in no way qualified to speak on unifying the Body of Christ together under one 'creed' or set of doctrines. we all are qualified, however, to call ourselves to personal holiness and sanctity to Christ. that's what this post was about. blessings brother!

-- great sleeping bag. camping: yes. though, if i'm honest, i prefer cabin camping. which i recognize is not manly, nor is it true camping. i'm sorry. i like have an actual toilet.

Brody Harper : Year Of The Blog?

-- really cool to see all the different blogs summarized and cataloged here. in light of this wonderful post, i thought you'd enjoy this bit of silliness: http://www.wired.com/entertainment/theweb/magazin... ...yeah...right...facebook is WAY more 'personal' than a blog... pretty ridiculous if you ask me. ...which no one did.

Brody Harper : Thanksgiving Eve Celebration

-- 1. my wife. she is the love of my life and completes me in every way. i never knew i would be so happy! specifically i am thankful for her relationship with the Lord and her excitement at living our life together. 2. my parents. i get to work with them every day and have become better friends with them than i think most kids are able to. i'm inspired by their life and sacrifice and service to God. 3. the volunteers at our church. we have a very small staff (compared to many churches our size) and every ministry is powered by people who are willing to serve the Lord without financial compensation. for 23 years we've never wanted for volunteers and that is due to the faithfulness of God and the humility of our people. happy thanksgiving eve brody.

Brody Harper : New Vs. Returning

-- (my comment got deleted, so, time for round 2) sounds like you had a rough meeting recently...sorry. really enjoyed this post. i think that the logic which the people you described are using is interesting. i mean, if you took their rationale in the 'unique-is-better-than-returning' issue and applied it to other areas of promotion, eventually you'd expect to hear them saying things like, "well, we don't want to spend any time getting these songs on the radio for people to hear over and over again...we just want to get the cds on the shelves for people to buy (once)." obviously they wouldn't agree with that approach, yet it's essentially how they're acting when it comes to web presence. what i find so funny is that EVERYONE agrees that you have to have a website. you have to. if you produced a record without a url in the liner notes...well that would just be silly. what is so confusing then (which you already know), is that even though they agree a website is necessary, they don't see the need for that website to be dynamic and of high quality. love what you guys are doing. stay strong.
