In this generation, along with the spread of a globalized way of thinking, most adults walk around with the weight of the world on their shoulders. That’s quite a burden to hold. Sometime's its a burden that's too heavy to hold. At this point many decide to search for a way out. Hence the worlds rising rate’s for suicide.
If I worked for a suicide hotline I would simply say, your life is not solely in your hands, so therefore it’s not yours for the taking. As we learned in class there are so many outlying factors that influence ones decision to commit suicide. In our individual walks of like we encounter thousands of people that affect us, whether it be minute or grand. As things begin to get hard, whether it be financially, spiritually, or mentally, we must not to forget to see the big picture. Things like finances are tiny details when you view the world like this. It is imperative to not let our issues become bigger than us. In addition it is very important to see that the same way others have affected our lives, we do also, it is a reciprocal action. If we took a step back and put all of these things into perspective one might come to realize that proposing to yourself an ultimatum like suicide is out of the question.
Things to keep in mind, are the many other things to live for; the people you love, the things you love to do, the place you love to be. Is that all worth losing? I know what is worth for sure though, a second chance. Living another day is a chance to take your live truly into your own hands and making the best of every opportunity to rise above the stress placed on us, suicide is not the only way out.

At the tender age of 5 one is barely aware of their presence on this earth yet. During this crucial time of adolescence most are focused on the simple foundations of being an individual. Simple thing like learning to read, coloring inside the lines, making friends at school, trying not to wet the bed. That being said, the idea that someone could hold a 5 year old responsible for attaining a gun, let alone being arrested for possessing one is absolutely absurd.
This is a prime example of our security going to waste. This child was not some genius master mind with the master plan, he wrongly stumbled upon a fire arm, of which should not have been somewhere he could reach it in the first place. I would love to learn whose bright idea it was to point the finger of blame at this kid.
In my opinion we need to spend more time prevent things like this rather than buckling down once its already become a threat. We as a society must be more aware of our surroundings and the ways in which we affect people. And this goes for on a global scale as well as locally, even in the home. Occurances like this would not happen if we as adults were more aware.
More importantly, preventative measures must be taken immediately. The facet that this happened is proof alone that whoever wants to get their hands on these kinds of items can do so quite easily, so easily a 5 year old could do it. We as a society stand around a look confused when year after year statistics rise on the amount of “accidental” deaths happen with people and the misuse of fire arms. How long will it take for something to be done, something other than arresting toddlers in pre-k? Maybe we wont see anything until it hits home for every single one of us, and that wouldn’t say very much about the integrity and homeland security that our country hold so near and dear to its heart. We must be the change that we want to see, it starts with us.

Just like the old saying goes: You don't know what you got till its gone
Freedom is something we take for granted everyday of our lives. We walk through our lives abusing liberties that our forefathers fought for centuries for without even a second thought. The freedom to walk down the street. The freedom to eat when you want. The freedom to wear what you want. The freedom to hold someone near you. The freedom to build a family. Most of us do not even use those liberties to the best of their ability. And that’s not even really true freedom. Real freedom is the in the mind.
The freedom to think and choose as you will without the pressures of society or religion, or anything else for that matter. For the inmate it took a life sentence for him to open his eyes and realize that if he wanted freedom he would have to make it for himself. But what does that leave for the rest of us that wont be faced with such an ultimatum? Will we be trapped in the confounds of our minds, in the jails we have created for ourselves forever? I do not know which is sadder. Everyday we allow our thought an actions to be molded by what see around us, and there thoughts and actions are what become our character.
This post forces us to look beyond what we think and to actually ask ourselves what is actually important. Finding true freedom will allow us to reach an entirely ore fulfilling quality of life. Enhancing one’s search for self by achieving true personal freedom is something that most people never attain, but with true self awareness it is completely feasible. We control our destiny, its just up to us to decide where we want to go. Without taking this hold on your life, we become robots, doing exactly what society wants us to do. Our lives are worth more than that, and think of the difference that could be made with that kind of personal growth amongst an entire population. This world would ultimately be a much more genuinely pleasant place to live.
