First Energy of Ohio got the approval of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to sent two energy efficient bulbs to it's customers and then charge $21.00 for them on their bill. I already have the bulbs and sure didn't spend that much for them. We use them in out-of-the-way places that don't have to have decent lighting for such things as reading. I fired off e-mails to the governor's office and to our local state representative. We had no notification ( another lack of transparency) until we read about it in the newspaper as a done deal. There are many people who could use that money for groceries or gas or whatever else they might need it for. I think he only downplayed it to gain some support from the public. The states that have the health-care model he and Congress are embracing has, of course, shown to be a failure but you know the government. If it fails, don't learn from it, embrace it. They never learn from mistakes. Too bad for us that the country didn't elect a leader but another politician. The unemployment rate is at 9.8%. If the labor dept. counted the people who have quit looking for jobs, etc. the actual figure would be 17%. Nice. They both have cancer and between trips for radiation, chemo and trips to the oncologists, I don't have time to draw a deep breath. I make the trips to their house for days at a time-----it's almost 6 hours each way. I am really sorry but they have to come first and I still have my own house to run as well as theirs.
