Thank you, Johny. I was merely, burning some time today and boom! You hit us all with such an informative lesson. We often think we are shopping/choosing environmentally "responsible" products but don't realize how many layers there are embedded within the system. This is definitely something I'm going to research more and really put some though into when I finally buy a house.
I'm not sure how much the folks at DIY net care about such issues, but I hope this at least sparks their interest.
