Glenn, first of all, thank you for keeping me in touch with reality. What concerns me most is the way this Congress is treating the Constitution as if it is a cut and paste document simply awaiting the next whim. "The Constitution? Oh, don't pay attention to that antiquated document and give me POWER!"
I called Sen Baucus' office yesterday to voice an opinion on a variety of subjects and then asked what real good does it do me to call if Sen Baucus is not going to listen to those who contact him, citing the stimulus bill as an example. I assured the aide that I know for a fact that the calls were overwhelmingly against the stimulus bill, which, to my surprise, he acknowledged. I was told that he does listen but sometimes exercises his own best judgement. I reminded the young man that he is not in DC to exercise his own best judgement, but to vote the will of the people of Montana. Baucus is in until 2014- what are we to do? Do we need to hire a lobbyist to break through the pearly gates of politician heaven? Thank you and all who read this for allowing me to rant!
