Are you two clueless to how much money they are making? They aren't promoting child prostitution, they certainly are promoting adult prostitution. You all might want to get your facts straight.

I LOLed. I love nature, I really do. I feed my squirrels on my balcony on the daily and watch my cats ram themselves into the sliding door as well. It's been 5 years since I moved here, cats still haven't learned. You can't take the animal out of the animal, people seem to forget that. Accidents happen, nature happens. To get all mad at a dog for being a dog or a cat for being a cat is rediclious. Akin to blaming your next door neighbor if you happen to go out and comit(sp?) some crime. The only thing you can do is protect you and yours. To fault the breed, owner, etc is all wrong. Pitbulls can be some of the friendliest dogs out there, it's bad press making a few bad situations worse.

Wrong. Learn to read. There are many reasons for no parking zones. Weather is be for street sweepers, high traffic areas etc. To blame the tow truck drivers doing their jobs is a little absurd. The arguement here is how much they charge.

As students you are also afforded the same academic freedom and particularly the "freedom to learn." If you have any point of view that you wish to share with your class and fellow students - make sure to do it respectfully. If you would rather that the content of the class be focused more on the course texts and not external politics - make sure to respectfully mention that to your instructor. In all cases, students are asked to respect and follow the faculty member's classroom conduct rules; likewise, the faculty members need to respect and protect the students "right to learn." We will continue to monitor the situation. If you have concerns or complaints, you have the right to have those heard through the complaints process (see page 38 of the Student Handbook and contact the Dean of Student Life and Engagement). On behalf of the college we thank you for choosing Seattle Central Community College. We are committed to protecting the standards of excellence in all aspects of your college experience that brought you here. We hope that in situations like this, we all move forward as better learners and as a better college. Sincerely, Dr. Killpatrick President

Occupy Seattle declared that regardless of college policies and college concerns, they intended to continue their action. Representatives from Occupy Seattle have assured me that they will not interfere with the mission of Seattle Central and will abide by their Good Neighbor Statement. The faculty union (AFT-Seattle) can, and has, recently taken a position in support of Occupy Seattle. AFT-Seattle is planning for various overnight teach-ins. Individual faculty hold academic freedom in the context of the curriculum in their classrooms and can choose, or not, to include protesters/non-students as guest speakers. If they choose to do so, we have asked the faculty and Occupy Seattle to also consider the rights of our tuition-paying students. Also, if such dialog occurs in the class, we have asked the faculty to provide balance in the points of view that are shared. I want to let you know that the college is always committed to providing a positive and enriching learning environment. We have reminded all parties that only enrolled tuition-paying students are permitted ongoing access into the classroom.

Our original rejection of the bid from Occupy Seattle noted that we, as a public institution, serve both the students who pay tuition and State taxpayers who fund the college. Many students have contacted me and shared a broad spectrum of opinions and concerns about Occupy Seattle, other political protests, and possible classroom impact. The diversity of student perspectives is one reason that the college is not taking a position on this issue. Late last week, I was in discussions with legal counsel, representatives from the community, city and state, and also with members of Occupy Seattle. In discussions with legal counsel, we learned of ambiguity in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) as it applies to college property. Legally, we cannot prevent Occupy Seattle from camping on campus property when it is engaged in First Amendment activities.

They weren't given it. They took it via loopholes in the RCWs. The school does not support them being there. Here's the email from the school president informing us of the up coming occupation prior to them going homeless on our lawn. Students of Seattle Central, I wish to inform you about events of this past week involving Occupy Seattle and the college's response. When the college learned that Occupy Seattle voted to move their base operations from Westlake Park to Seattle Central Community College, I was, and I continue to be, concerned about the fiscal costs to the college, the safety and security of both non-student and student protesters and community members, and any disruption to the classroom experience.

Guilty by association. The outside looking in people can't and don't see the difference. If it looks like a homeless came and presents itself like a homeless camp what are people supposed to think? The guy the dumped the left overs from the night befores party all over Mia's doorstep was quite obviously part of the occupy movement as I saw him myself. If they don't want to be percieved in such a way, they should work to rectify that reguardless of who is to blame. The fingers will ultimately point towards Occupy right now.

Prior Service combat decorated US Marine. 2000-2003. Spelling matters not here, this is not an English test. There are clearly better ways to protest that get the point across without effecting other peoples education. I'm 31 buddy, this is my 4th chosen career change. I've seen the larger world and to say we have serious problems is fairly laughable. Our problems are tiny in comparison to a few countries I've visited. If you want wealth you have to work for it.

As a student at SCCC I'm not a fan of Occupy Seattle's presence what so ever. The 1st time I saw it I swear Nicelsville had moved but I was obviously mistaken. OC could learn a thing or two from Nickel's in how to maintain an area and blend in with the surrounds. Occupy found a loop hole in the RCWs that allows them to be there in complete definace of the school's actual standing on the matter. I've seen the left over cases of empty beer dumped across the block on Mia's front door step, I've heard the "chug chug chug" multiple times coming to and leaving from my night class. General all around embarassement is what Occupy should be feeling. It's incredibly hard to take them seriously in the manner they currently present themselves. Hopefully it's just a matter of time until SCCC takes the trash out and finds a way to have them removed from the property for good.
