I agree. I know the left always leap to the wrong conclusion, but you are right. If you have had many bad, or frustrating, experiences with business men that you have always been told are "capitalists," you might start to take a dim view of them after a while. But what successful people like Redford refuse to admit, is that they are bosses now, or employers. They won't even admit they are rich. Or dodge taxes. Or side-step unions. Or invest on Wall Street, including in the "war machine." I just re-read your comment and realized, I miss-read your sarcasm. But what the hell, I'll leave my comment.

Miss Geller, saying "stop funding," is not the same thing as saying "stop the savages." I agree with you, that they are. But it is only a bus ad, not a forum for debate. Or a news item. Next time just say, "fund," or "support," Israel. But of course, that would not get attention, or give an adrenaline fix. I think what you're doing is great. More power to you. But this does not make sense to me. I'll tell you what, I'll try to devise a bus ad slogan, and send it to you. Who knows, maybe you are right, but I'll give it a try. Of course, as I've been typing this, the video has been playing. Wow. Maybe you are right. But still... how about something like... "We give money to our deadly enemies, so why not our friends?"

Have you lost your mind, Mr. Yeagley? Please can the movie reviews. You sound like Roger Ebert on drugs, trying to analyze conservative motives. But, you have stumbled onto something, when you point out, lefties think conservatives are wrong. It is their distinct characteristic; the customer is always wrong. In capitalism, the customer is always right. Which is why capitalist countries become rich, and why socialist countries become poor; the customer is always wrong. A leftie may argue here, that entitlement programs, for instance, are popular in America. And they would be right. They are. But that does not make the people customers; it makes them beggars. Even if they paid into this system, they are beggars. And I can say so, because I wound up on disability myself. You might say I had different views at the time. And the fool lie I told myself, was I had paid in, so I was "entitled." Dumb. Now I am a beggar, who is trying to get over the guilt of saying things like this. Watching lefties do that all the time, I've been thinking; why not? The internet has changed things.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: Why Studios Hate Streaming and America Doesn't Care About Sundance or '30 Rock'

I'm convinced if Aaron Sorkin were a conservative, he'd be considered one of the greatest writers since Shakespeare. Or at least Rod Serling (i have no idea if serling was conservative, that is not the point, you yip-yaps). He specializes in smart characters who think fast, but talk faster. The fun is trying to keep up. He loves that. I know I do. Now if only his brain would catch up with his keyboard in politics, or at least economy, he could help return Hollywood to reality. (i know, sanity comes first, then reality. but shut up)

Big Hollywood : 'Heavenly Creatures' Blu-ray Review: Still Director Peter Jackson's Greatest Film

I just watched a bunch of trailers for a bunch of other Peter Jackson movies. And then I watched the trailer for "Heavenly Creatures." They all have the same hysterical subtlety of a sledge hammer. Except the earlier amateur ones look like they might be fun. That is, if you haven't just eaten. As far as the "Lord" movies go, I dutifully slept through every one.

Of all my life mistakes, the biggest one was going to college. I mean any college. And that was in the seventies. Based on what I've been reading lately, that was nothing compared to now. I'm just glad I went to a no-where college in Podunk Anytown. It could have been worse.

Big Hollywood : Pro-American Band Madison Rising Rocks Occupiers' Open Mic Event

Madison Rising remind me a lot of "Creed." Basic hard rock. Muscular riffs, intense singing, turgid music. I am disappointed. But it is great, to listen to even turgid hard rock, when the lyrics are so deliberately pro-American. It's a little disorienting, but offers hope that better bands will follow suit.

Julianne Moore looks and talks like Tina Faye in that clip. Hollywood really can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality. And good point "rushevents." That's what I've been thinking lately. With Capitalism, the customer is always right; in socialism, the customer is always wrong. That's why Capitalists make countries rich, and Socialists make countries poor. I never noticed the pattern when I was young, but I do now. I can't think of one thing the American public likes, that liberals either hate, or have some kind of problem with. We have the wrong politics. We have the wrong money. We eat the wrong food. We drink the wrong water. We have the wrong God. They want our guns, and cars, and electricity. They hate religion, and profit, and business. And in art, they don't like happy endings. The customer is always wrong in socialism. I can only hope and pray Obama loses the next election.

It's not that he's gay, it's that he's got gay on the brain. The first time I heard of this guy was when I saw "I'm Not There." A movie I enjoyed enough to buy. I especially liked his spiel about the sound track on the bonus disc. But he seems to think that what made Bob Dylan truly great, was he went gay, or maybe bi, or maybe changed his look to somehow show support someway of the gay cause in '66 or '67. Or something. The man has one lens, and one lens only, by which he looks at the world; the gay lens. I thought it just meant, Bob should have taken a break, and gotten a hair cut. Most gays seem to think only gays have problems in this world. This guy thinks Bob Dylan was sending secret messages, the way Charlie Manson thought the Beatles were sending him secret messages. He's got gay on the brain.

Because, CPeony, both creeds preach self-sacrifice as the highest form of morality, and selfishness as bad, or evil, that's why. That is why liberals say Jesus was a socialist. Because he preached sacrifice as one of the main pass-keys into heaven. Though of course, liberals ignore the fact, Jesus only wanted volunteers.

And I know of course, that Ricky Gervais is a liberal, so I thought my clever contextual joke at Mike's, and Ricky's, expense would be funny as well. So excuuuuussse meeeeee!
Big Hollywood : 'Sid and Nancy: The Collector's Edition' Blu-ray Review: Biopics Don't Get Much Better Than This

I was the first and only guy on my wing, to buy "Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols." And just as I was acclimating to this unusual, aggressive music, it was all over. No more Sex Pistols. I wanted to quit college and start a band. But I didn't. Less than a year later, Sid Vicious murdered Nancy Spungen. Shortly after that, Sid O.D.'ed on heroin. Jane Curtin did a piece on Saturday Night Live, mocking Sid, and to say good riddance. I couldn't help but feel the same. Then came the movie. I vowed to never see this movie. Years later, the Pistols one and only official release, was certified gold. And I vowed again, to never see this movie. Now I think it is time to see this movie. And I think the reason why is, I wish I had quit college, and started that band. But I may have not concluded this, if I had not spent my time this week, watching the movie "Greenberg," again, and again. Time is funny, and regret is funny; but rock lives on.

Big Hollywood : 'Carnage' Review: Polanski's Latest a Bloody Good Time

Said a man who indulged the groupies of his day. Again and again. On two different wives. Albert Einstein was no saint. I know that is not the same as being a pedophile, so I cut some slack. When it comes to political statements, or positions, no matter how foolish, I also cut some slack. I know all about the desire not to patronize imbeciles who affront American values. But that is easier said than done. At least for me, because I love movies, and want to enjoy. However, Roman Polanski is a liberal of a different color. I think it is right to stay firm here, and not pay for, or ever watch, this movie. But I did watch the attached trailer, Mr. Hanlon. If this were not by Polanski, I would have doubts about seeing it. This trailer does not indicate the movie described in your review. This is not a serious movie, it's cut like a comedy. No doubt then it is a "black" comedy. And it does not look funny. Crude and broad. Don't get me wrong, I love broad, crude, black comedy. As long as it's funny. This does not look funny. Maybe it's because I know it's by Polanski. And that is just it. It is by Roman Polanski. And after giving all of this thought, I also think it is fair to hold the performers to task, for even appearing in this movie. As far as enjoying past Polanski movies, the ones he filmed before the rape of a minor, well, I don't want to task myself any time soon.
