The Patriot Act allows the GOVERNMENT to do just about anything they want. Why was it that our DEMOCRATIC congress person, Defazio, was one of the handful who voted "NO" because he knew it was 99% going to be used against American citizens. The systems and procedures of the Patriot Act would allow law enforcement to get away with just about anything in the name of "security".

i wish reporters did more thorough investigations and added the details in their reports. what crime did the officer suspect sahme of committing which led to her initial arrest? what was the traffic violation for the pull over? who is the gun registered to? what is the relationship between the three? where do they live? why didn't the reporter/edtior publish the "facts" as the posters make "a male officer cannot frisk a woman." isn't a .40 caliber a big gun? how could that be hidden? isn't the a good situation for the reporters to bring up that a single police officer shouldn't have to handle three individuals by himself. what if the other two had weapons and jumped out while the officer was arresting sahme. are their too few officers because america is broke/blowing our tax dollars overseas? on the charge of Theft first degree, what was stolen, from whom, where? in my opinion, now when you see any type of arrest you see a list of charges that seem too long. i think it makes a mockery of our justice system or just not telling the public what is really going on. the long list of charges is used to make plea deals. if someone is scum there should be a trial, if guilty then sentenced and they serve it. no playing around with plea deals.

it's difficult to believe the father only got 5 years! but since oregon, along with all the other states, is going bankrupt, the judge had to make a bargain to keep expenses to minimum. no money to try the case and no money to keep criminals in prison. this guy will be out in two years. last week i saw that $45 billion was being sent to afghanistan just for 1/2 years budget.

i believe this father would be doing drugs no matter what. if we got rid of the DEA we could save an extra $500 billion. that's a lot of money to track down and hold scum bags like this father!
