Hi all, I currently have a 3G paperweight after 4.1 upgrad on Friday by a well meaning IT friend. I have received valuable and helpful info from this blog and only wih I would've looked here before going to my friend. I'd like to ask everyones opinion on this. Please sound off on this as the opinions I read here carry weight with me. Thanks.

I can purchase a used Iphone 3 for $200 and jailbreak/unlock it again. I'd really rather not spend the money when I have a perfectly usable Iphone thats waiting for this patch. I know no one knows the exact answer as to when this patch is going to be available, but would you, personally, based on the releases of prior unlocking programs, wait for this next patch or go ahead and spend the money on another one? Again I thank youguys for the help.

Due to some some misguided but with well intentioned help from the IT person at work on Friday Sept. 10(says he didnt now my Iphone was jailbroken and unlocked with T-mobile) I am now the unlucky owner of a 3G Itouch instead of an Iphone. I am new to this blog but after reading some comments and advice I will be visiting alot more often. I'd appreciate some confirmation if what I'm thinking is correct.

With my Iphone running on the new 4.1, I cannot unlock it for use with any other carrier besides AT&T, I can jailbreak it by restoring IOS 4.0 using Redsnow 9.5. Is this correct? Thanks for any help.

New to the forum, hi all. I have an Iphone 3G that's been upgraded to 4.1 on Sept. I was downloading snowbreeze and my Iphone froze in the middle of it and just had the apple Icon on the screen, I couldnt turn it off. I took it to the IT to see if he can help and he just restored it on his computer and upgraded it to 4.1 ( says he didn't know I had an unlocked Iphone with T-mobile. Now I'm stuck with an Itouch. I've tried following some of the instructions on rejailbreaking it with redsnow 9.5 but whenever I browse on my computer for the IPSW (which I've downloaded from xxx as well as from Iphone restore, 4.0 8A923) it cannot be found by redsnow. I'm pretty sure its me doing something wrong and was hoping someone would be kind enough to enlighten me on the proper method or am I stuck? After this fiasco I'm sure I will be a regular to this site. Thanks
