Trickle down economics is rich people peeing on poor people's dreams. And this trickle down bailout is not what it seems.

Population of Canada: 33 million
GDP per capita, Venezuela: 12,200
GDP per capita, Canada: 38,400
Price of gas per gallon, Venezuela: $0.12
Price of gas per gallon, Canada: $5.50
That giant sucking sound you hear is Canadian money en route to transnational owned banks, while our well paid 'politicians' get their little bite. Want to make Canada a HUGE destination for foreign tourists? Lower the price of gasoline.

Now, I recall that when the Taliban was the government, they offered up Bin Laden to the US on the condition that he be tried in an international court. No takers on that one.
I'm against all war period. It is just another way for the rich to exploit the poor.
Finally, if we are in a war we must be losing or the neocons wouldn't even be suggesting that we pull out. If you were the Taliban and your enemies said they were pulling out in two years, what would you do with that info?
1. Sit back for two years in a war for your country which you believe you are winning.
2. Increase the pressure and send more Canadian kids home in boxes to make sure they do pull out.
3. Since you know that Canadians don't favor the war (65 percent against) and you know that most European countries don't want to commit more troops, keep attacking. Let's not forget that the Taliban is winning this war and that nobody has ever successfully 'occupied' Afghanistan.
That's how the Taliban may see it. Yes, it's wonderful to 'build democracy' in countries with different values from our own, but it doesn't seem to work. And of course it all ties into who you believe about 911. I won't go into it but here are a couple of URLs you might want to look at. These are not of the 'Wild Eyed Conspiracy' type so may be worth a short look:

a little heavy but worth the read
http://whatreallyhappened.com/
lots of valid alternative viewpoints
Final question: Did the Conservative decide to rush us with this election to bolster their neocon brethren in the US, and/or because they know that it would be a lot harder to win if the Democrats triumph in the south?
