It is no easy task -- and a whole world is watching and silently (and sometimes not so silently) cheering on.

Yeah, Adrian. I viewed (and still view) the event as an encouragement for the rest of the world. I agree the prize has taken away a lot of attention but the issues are still the same and need to be addressed. It strikes me that those who do not have their head down and working to face the challenges of the hard times and to make changes -- are the ones making the most noise.

I believe Obama has the moral strength to make the decisions he has to make -- regardless of the peace prize. He comes across as if he is in it for the long haul and not just the here and now (term). The tough challenge for the American people is making the hard choices on the type of society they wish to create for themselves and their children. I'm shocked at how easily some arguments are brushed aside as being "socialist"

Re: resolving issues. We owe it to our children's children that we make every effort to resolve differences peacefully. War only benefits the defence industry.

To help me sort out this jungle, I look at social media tools in broad functional categories. Microblogging for knowledge sharing, blogging for creating content, file sharing for collaborating, aggregation for searching are the broad categories. Microblogging (in the form of Twitter and Yammer) are the hottest areas and now there is this huge information source that rivals blogs (rich but compact). (Google eyeing Twitter is not surprising and since FB could not acquire Twitter they simply Twitter'ed their home page:-))

Friendfeed appears to fall into the aggregator category and I have not been good at using it. Besides finding it a bit clumsy, I am trying to work the other way round i.e. use a single tool to publish to the social media platforms I am on. Bascially, keeping my online presence consistently updated -- and enriching it. My latest experiment is with Ping.fm that covers many platforms -- and I managed to integrate Twitter on my blog.

So: LinkedIn for my professional network and FB for social. Twitter (and Yammer) for knowledge sharing, Blogspot for blogging, Flickr for pictures and Google Docs for co-creating. That's quite a handful.

Ligningene kan forenkles på to måter -- begge er like kvasimatematiske og med en uhøytidelig bruk av algebra. So please bear with me

1. forenkling
(Samfunndebatt - Nettdebatt) = 0
Dvs Samfunnsdebatten uten nettdebatten er ingen ting
Her er det vanlig ligningsreduksjon i bruk

2. forenkling
Samfunn = Nett
Dvs samfunnet vårt beveger seg fra rene hierarkier (eller forvaltningnivåer) til også inkludere nettverk.
Denne ligningen krever litt forklaring:
- Fra ligning 1) får man debatt*(Sammfunn - nett) = 0
- Her kan enten debatt = 0 (dvs ingen debatt) eller at (Samfunn - nett) = 0 og da får man Samfunn = nett

Poenget mitt er at samfunn generelt vitner nettverkseffekten på grasrota og vi ser starten av grasrotsaktivisme for å påvirke egne rammer eller "dyp demokrati" som jeg foretrekker å kalle det (imotsetning til overfladisk demokrati, slik vi har sett hittil).

Kan det hende at det som skremmer politikere er at "representasjon" (som i Stortingsrepresentant) vil forandres fullstendig -- fordi grasrota vil stille krav og forvente resultater nesten 24 x 7. Utfordrer dette teorier innen statsvitenskap (og skremmer etablere statsvitere?). Det som er spennende (eller skremmede) er at bølgen av grasrotsaktivisme skjer ikke bare i Norge eller de industrialiserte land. Det skjer i økende tempo i utviklingsland -- som kanskje har mye mer å tjene på "dyp demokratiet". Og da er jeg er spent å se hvordan norsk utenrikspolitikken favner fenomenet av sosial medier.

Påskeferien kan brukes til mye rart :-)

Noen tanker (som dere kanksje har allerede vurdert)
- Som navigator vil jeg ha valgt matrisen på siden "Kanaler", hver celle i matrisen kan vise en videosnutt, seertall osv (på sikt også "viewer ratings")
- Cellene kan brukes som lenker til programguide

Dette er strålende!! Tenk om bedrifter kunne presentere årsrapportene sine på en slik måte. De også har en historie å fortelle ... de fleste ihvertfall :-)
