Im not the only one that had anything to say... And as far as civil rights the state has statutes that allow bee inspectors to inspect hives... Most inspectors are courteous and call and try to meet up with the beekeeper.... As terry was belligerent the inspector was probably escorted by some cops so that the situation didn't become dangerous... Civil rights isn't an issue here due to the nature of the diseases that are affecting bees, of which round up is not one but AFB is... The bee inspector program is designed to prevent the spread of these types of diseases and bee populations on the decline, it is more important than ever that these hives are quarantined and destroyed as soon as possible. If terry had acted responsibly and taken care of the matter himself then this wouldn't have been an issue. You say its a civil rights violation but when it comes to outbreaks like TB, smallpox, or AFB it doesn't matter they are all the same.... You did not check any laws just posted his opinion which is ludicrous. What you have implied is that this WHOLE thing is a conspiracy.... And who other than terry has told you about the hearings? Or the legal proceedings? Yes its a commentary but not a very good one, and from someone who is costing you your credibility.

I think this needs fact checking as well, the issue here is that this is one source, and thats Terry... If any kind of decent Journalist had written this they should have done their own research as well as contact both parties involved rather than taking one mans word. No Jude I have the right context, there are two sides to this story and you only have one and sadly its not entirely reliable.
I doubt the inspector is this ignorant, and there is something more to this story. Again with the terry says....
Just because someone has been doing something for 58 years doesn't mean that they are right, it could also mean that they are complacent and god forbid wrong... I have never been inspected in the winter, and I'm sure the "any time" was meant for ohh spring, summer, fall...
*"At the April 4 hearing, Ingram said he felt he was able to show the court that the inspector could not tell the difference between “chilled brood” and foulbrood. He also proved to the court that the inspectors did not know the symptoms of foulbrood. The Ingrams used to manage over 250 colonies of honeybees, breeding their own queens for traits which they deemed necessary for successful survival, and charge they were all killed by Round-Up. “When Round-Up kills the adult bees there are not enough bees left in the hive to keep the young bees (brood) warm, and the young bees die from the cold (chilled brood)."*
Even if there were questions foul brood vs chill brood that is what the tests were for as I am sure it was tested... Terry could have sent his own samples to a lab and have it tested as well, but hard science and lab reports are not good enough for terry because he knows best.
Raised my own bees and now regulations prohibit me from buying without IDofA approval and repeated inspections. And they can inspect my property even on Sundays when most people are at religious services.
No again fact check... I have bought package bees, caught swarms, and bred my own... I did not need approval for this at all, and as far as inspecting on sunday it is usually more convenient so that both the inspector and beekeeper can be present, sometimes thats not possible but hey if terry says its bad....
I guess I wish I was blessed with terrys god like ability to solve CCD, genetically breed pesticide resistant bees, and not have to rely on silly things such as lab results or real science..... I guess I just don't understand how anyone can take one side of this story write an article about it without doing any research whatsoever... I just don't understand no facts just terrys word... 58 years a researcher? Really? what research? post a link to show me where his research is I would love to see it if it is real honest to goodness research, and if he is as good as he says he is why isn't he in touch with anyone else?

As I understand it, this was going to happen whether he was home or not. The inspectors just don't burn hives for fun, I would bet anything that they tested for foul brood, simply cutting comb won't give the spore count that would be critical, the brood itself was most likely sent in and tested as well. Samples of bees may or may not have some trace of AFB, small traces are acceptable, larger issues like that of goo are a giveaway which is why samples were sent in the first place.
“That’s the determination that the hearing officer has to make - am I breaking the inspection law, if they can detect it. Because they sure can’t identify it.”
Yes they can detect and identify as most people can who don't have their head in the sand... again Id bet anything they also had it tested to be absolutely sure that is was foul brood.
For the past 15 years, Ingram said he has been conducting research on the effects of Round-Up on honeybees. He feels he had accumulated the necessary data to document the fact that Round-Up was not only the cause of his bees dying, but also possibly the cause of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD).
Ingram said... Ingram said... Where is supporting evidence? Did you bother doing any fact checking? It isn't round up that causes the problems so much as its the pesticides used on insects... Further more there are some of the worlds best scientists working on identifying the causes of CCD, and Terry Ingram says he has solved the mystery and blames it on round up? Seriously? I would love to see the data regarding this, what processes he used and experiments he's done, and if any of it can be validated...
