I've read many similar comments decrying Fox News' move to the center. While I agree the move is intentional, I believe it has more to do with a loss of market share among "I'm-already-awake" and hard-right audiences than Murdoch's personal politics, or some "dark hand" pulling a lever, as you seem to suggest. Fox loses audience as new media news outlets proliferate and get better at delivering content. By tacking to the center, Fox picks up audiences who are turning away from the MSM. Cavuto seems to be pushing FBN's content toward expressing Libertarian-leaning perspectives. Why don't you try watching Freedom Watch?

Spoken like a true Libertarian. However, I fear being philosophically honest to Libertarian values will not get the doctor elected in the current political environment. They (the MSM) hammer the man b/c his jackets don't fit him well, and they do so because they cannot accept his social vision, or do not yet understand our nation will most likely fall without a return to the Constitution. Without widespread public acceptance of Libertarianism, or without presenting his campaign as a transition to the Constitution Paul cannot garner the full support of the GOP. All of the other candidates will simply manage our decline, and Obama will paint Libertarians as a return to the days of the horse-n-buggy transportation and a thirty-year life span.

I'm at a loss. Thank you for your reply. I hope we have the opportunity to discuss the matter further.

Unfortunately the good doctor failed to sufficiently answer Ms. Kelly's question, which was, to paraphrase, "What would Pres. Paul do if Iran closed the Strait?" Instead Dr. Paul took the opportunity to discuss the Libertarian view of foreign policy, which to most in her audience consider isolationist, or weak. If we are going to truly consider electing a Libertarian president in 2012, they will have to espouse a slightly hawkish stance. For example, Dr. Paul could have started his reply with, "If the Iranians took a shot at any of our ships I would of course approve our Navy to defend themselves. I would never let such a slight at our forces to go unanswered. I'm a Libertarian, and of course this means as President my foreign policy would basically be guided from a "non-intervention" perspective. But let's consider why they are hostile to us in the first place..." If Dr. Paul were more forceful in discussing when to use "good medicine" I believe he would garner more listeners, and perhaps more support.
