Did any of you guys see the picture of a "homeless" guy taking a picture of Michelle Obama at a homeless shelter food line? My first thought was, "whats wrong with this picture?". Guess it was a sign of things to come.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 7/15 Finally... A Peek At The Dems Health Care Plan - It's Only 1000 Pages

Please look at page 16 (our of 1000) of this proposal. It basically states that if you leave an employer (where you are getting private insurance) to work for yourself (here comes another hit for small business) you will not be able to buy individual plans from private carriers. Your only choice would be the "public option". Also, the Dems plan seeks to eliminate HSA's - because this program is the only one that provides an opportuntiy for individuals to have control of their health care treatments. This information is obtained from todays editorial from the online version of Investors Business Daily. Call your reps! Not, that it seems to do any good, but I'm calling anyway!

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : News From You

Under Dem Plan Public Option Will be the Only Option! I just read an article on Investers Business Daily (linked from RealClearPolitics.com that stated on page 16 of the Dems proposal which "Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law" - which means those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers. This legislation also seeks out to crush HSA's - because this program gives individuals more control over their own health care - and this program is built to serve the masses! Call your representatives! This is not freedom to choose, this is only more government takeover!

It is just predictible - I send them notes asking them to vote a certain way - and I get the same, wordy reply telling me why they disagree with me!

I know where you're coming from. Honestly, I have stayed a republican because of the old stories about Ross Perot and thinking that if I voted for a third party I'd "waste my vote". These days though, I'm re-thinking that. The fact is that the two parties we have to choose from now are "bad" or "worse" and maybe we do need a third party choice - if, for no other reason than to wake someone, anyone up! And, you have to concede that even if Perot did cause a split of conservative voters - he surely gave the other two parties something to think about because they're still talking about it! I just wonder if we had a STRONG and CONSERVATIVE third party candidate, it could make a difference.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/26 Cap & Trade? Wall Street Journal Says NOOOOOO!

I think in conjunction with the Tea Party movement we should start a "Dump All Incumbants" Party - wonder if our representatives (I use that term loosely) would take notice then? I am so frustrated. I contact my congressman and senator regularly - all I ever get back is a form letter stating what they believe and why - in my last e-mail back to my senator (Mel Martinez - what a joke!) I reminded him that I didn't want to get another letter from him stating HIS opinion, I wanted him to vote for me! Needless to say, no reply. DUMP ALL INCUMBANTS, AMERICA!

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/26 ABC's Obama TV Special Was Not-So-Special

My family has "boycotted" ABC since the news of this came out. I try (not altogether successfully!) to teach my teenage boys that sometimes chosing whether to spend your dollar, or in this case not watching a particular channel, is the only weapon that each of us have as individuals to support our own convictions.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/22 If DEMS Go Solo On Healthcare Do They Have The Votes?

As a nurse for over 25yrs I don't understand where Obama and others promoting the health care plan get their information about "unnecessary medical costs". I work at one of the largest medical institutions in the country in a busy orthopedic department, and I can assure you that our staff is never encouraged to order unnecessary testing/treatments. Actually the opposite occurs! We are encouraged and challenged on a daily basis to provide efficient, quality health care as cheaply as possible.

I have to admit, my first thought when hearing this was instantly "no great loss to humanity". Then, my Christian upbringing came screaming back at me and I know that no one has the right to kill another human being.....ummm but, that is exactly what he was doing! I hear in the media all about the "right winger christians" now, but haven't heard anything about the "left winger Muslim convert" who just killed one army recruiter and wounded another.
Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/20/09: Flu Panic Hits... But Is It Real

I can tell you that here at Mayo Clinic in Florida, last week all the medical staff were fitted with respirators (droplet-proof face masks, essentially) and told "you WILL be coming into contact with patients with H1N1". If we become sick ourselves, we are required to report our symptoms to employee health and stay home 7 days. I've been here 18yrs and have never seen recommendations like this to us during regular flu seasons!

As a native Floridian, I too, feel that Charlie Crist was the lesser of two evils for our last election. I honestly can't remember if I voted for him or not. Floridarepublicans have been appalled at Mel Martinez - and Charlie Christ is no better - more a democrat than republican. These days, I have decided to no longer vote for the "lesser", but to vote for conservatives no matter what party affilliation. Unfortunately, though, here in Florida, if you are an independent, you cannot vote in primaries - which I believe is unfair - and puts the possibility of a serious third party candidate at a disadvantage. I'm off to look up Marco Rubio's website to find out more about him!

I don't know about everyone else, but the CDC certainly hasn't impressed me with this one. Basically, what they are saying now, is, it's widespread and we have no way to contain it. They can't keep up with the number of samples being sent to them - and they basically have no idea how many people really have it. God help us when the BIG one comes around.

I think the difference here is that there is no vaccine at this point. I think that's the difference between this and the regular flu. I was listening to one speaker this morning, and they made a good point. The natural course of flu like this is to be bad for 4-6 mos, recede, then come back 3-6 mos later (that's how the flu killed so many people in the 1918 I think) epidemic. Now, though, we know that it is from a virus (back then, they thought it was bacterial) and will be able to offer a vaccine for at-risk individuals by the time it swings back around.
