The question is where does the free market stop, with the borders of this country, or the whole planet? If we spread the free market all around the world, without any restriction, it doesn't owe anything to anybody and changes in the markets could be completely erratic: businesses would move from one country to the next cheaper one, faster and faster, as they would start to build this into their business models. In the short term this might benefit poorer countries, but ultimately it's very destructive: It leaves, like a typhoon, not only chaos in its wake, namely in the countries that are being deserted, but the unregulated booms also cause pollution and destruction themselves—just look at China.

I think this recession is the first sign of a largely unrestrained free market establishing a world wide presence, and it's not working: There have to be rules and regulations in place. I agree with you an 'outsourcing tax' could be a good first start.
