Are we not all allowed our personal space, for our own reasons? I love dogs, however, like many people, I have moderate allergies to them. An approaching dog makes me a bit apprehensive, I can't help it. Sometime it's quite uncomfortable, and I'm not sure the dog understands that I'm allergic rather than "uptight" or "unhappy". It's always a pleasure to encounter masters that respect the space of other trail users. It's not nice to encounter those that do not. Unwanted contact with dogs is not a trivial matter for those with dog allergies. For example, dog saliva can and will cause itchy hives when contact is made with skin. An environment with children isn't appropriate. Individuals who need Boulder Mental Health Partners are compromised in their abilities to take care of their own health and safety, and in their abilities to make safe choices for themselves. It only takes one individual who is having a bad day to make an unsafe choice about a child - or near a child. One can't protect their children from all people and behaviors, but they can try their best to mitigate the risk. Boulder Mental Health patients are a risk. This center is a risk.
