I'm sure Tiger's women have seen that facial expression before... i guess it would've been inappropriate if we superimposed his face onto one wearing less clothes?

Writing the Pine : The Tiger Woods Brand

From Tag Heuer, one his sponsors: Swiss watch maker Tag Heuer said Monday it will continue its association with Tiger Woods despite the golfer's alleged infidelities. Company spokeswoman Mariam Sylla said the sponsorship is unchanged because Woods remains the world's best golfer and Tag Heuer does not care about his private life. "We will continue," Sylla told The Associated Press. "He's the best in his domain. "We respect his performance in the sport," she said, adding that Woods' personal life is "not our business."

But on a more serious note I think you're going a lil Chicken Little on Tiger. The Sky is not falling. Ultimately, the public will forgive him if he's contrite in some sort of a personal apology (and not a polished statement posted on his website) and if he wins. If Tiger comes back and starts winning tournaments and donning on new Green Jackets and winning majors again, he will be forgiven. Sure there will be the occasional heckler or blogger or even member of the established media that will bring up this entire incident, but for the most part the public will move on. Michael Vick went to jail and PETA protesters were picketing anything Vick. There seemed no way a NFL team would sign him. Well, he did. Kobe Bryant was on trial for rape. Some sponsors dropped him quickly and made judgments. The post-scandal Kobe is still married, won an MVP, and a title without Shaq. And he's rehabbed his image (somewhat). Will the PGA suffer in his absence? No doubt about it. But as a silver lining, maybe this will prepare the PGA for the post-Tiger era when he finally does retire. They'll learn to diversify their marketing and not put all their eggs in one basket. And the Tour did fine when Tiger missed half the year after hurting his leg. Think of this as Tiger's career equivalent to Michael Jordan playing baseball. BTW, did you read Simmons' article about this from Friday. I love the idea of him turning heel, growing an NWO beard and hooking up with every under 25 Hollywood starlet/singer/groupie after divorcing his wife. That would be compelling. And his new sponsors could be Trojan Condoms.

Writing the Pine : Fist Pump Friday: Your First Situation of the Weekend

Hmm the aforementioned "G-bomb" was used in this context: "If you ain’t a guido, get the f^&* out of my face. " i.e., it was a DIRECT QUOTE of someone. Ouch. That was your point hitting a wall. A wall named Reality. I will now post another quote from a favorite tv show, "How I Met Your Mother" Barney: (making a fake phone call) Hi, leg warehouse? Yeah, my friend Ted needs something to stand on. [pause] So, nothing for him to stand on? Ok, thanks so much. [hangs up phone] I'm Barney. You're Ted. Have a nice day!

I can totally see her being a character in "Drawn Together." And I can't wait til I see her get punched in the face. I read a newspaper article about the incident when the show was originally slated to be called "The Guidos." It was some random drunk guy and not Mike the Situation. Whew.

Hmm Chris. While I appreciate your opinion, I disagree. Aside from the actual topic of choice, being "Jersey Shore" and quotes from the show, the actual content is different. I won't deny I listen to Simmon' podcast, since I'm a huge fan and have followed his stuff from his pre-Kimmel days, this posting was an amalgamation of watching the show the night before, being inspired by the amount of laughter I had from listening to the podcast, talking about it literally the entire day at work, and meeting a deadline from my editor about the Curtis Granderson trade. That said, I hope you come back since comparing my original work to Simmons' is a compliment, albeit backhanded. =D

I couldn't stand her. There's a reason why she's ranked last in the Jersey Shore Power Rankings. (I realize WTP LOVES power rankings). And she looks like a female oompa loompa. Nah. Chill.
