The bottling industry used to reuse glass bottles here. the bottles were seperated by brand for soft drinks and the beer by long (eastern brands) and short neck (Blitz, Lucky and Oly). there were only a few clear beer bottles, all of which were low voulme eastern brands. the drivers picked up the bottles and returned them to the local plant for washing inspection and refilling. the distributers probably ate the deposit on the clear beer glass.

Can't figure that one out either. I buy American made dress shirts for 50 bucks and polos for 30. can't be $150 just for the wool. Since clothing is no longer made in Portland by either Pendleton or Columbian, the talent to make them has been lost. What I thought was kind of strange was that both companies hired Mexican, Vietnamese and other immigrants in Portland and then moved that production to those same countries.
