I kind of like "old-fashioned and safe". Not every kids movie needs to push the boundaries of societal norms and, as a parent of 5 children, I'm grateful that Pixar has kept the script out of the sewer.

This kind of activity kind of sheds a little light on why Florida has a "stand your ground law". It's time for a similar law in Oregon with more protection built in for the home/business owner who is protecting his property and self from serious harm.

I wonder how much the taxes on a gallon of gas, plus government mandates that require a certain percentage of ethanol in that gallon contribute to the extra cost. It would be interesting to see a tax comparrison between Oregon or California and, say, Louisiana. I suspect that taxes plus other environmental restrictions (how many new offshore oil rigs have been built off the California coast lately) are the major reason that the price of gas is so much higher on the left coast.

I'm thinking you misunderstood my post. I was trying to highlight the ridiculousness of the main argument that I hear all the time about legalizing marijuana and comparing it to alcohol. I would never say that stealing anything is OK. I apologize if I was unclear.

California trapdoor spider. I found a few of these as a kid at a housing development construction site. They tunnel about a foot into the ground and leap out to capture passing insects. We had great fun with that! About the size of a quarter and pretty scary looking but not aggressive to people or venomous. Good close up! That's a camera with a great super-macro function.
