I agree with your thoughts on Jack/Tiger... except... majors aren't easy to win... back in the day, Woods made everything...not so much now... and you have to get the ball in the hole to win... will be win one this year? Probably... because he's due... but the clock is ticking, and he and Jack both know that.

I once knew a guy that was a pretty good high school basketball official...worked a couple state finals and many regional and other tournament games...had a great schedule and was enjoying doing the games...and he woke up one day and saw his daughter going into the 9th grade and another in 7th realized he had only a few years left...before they would go to college. He called the league assignors and decided to quit.... so he could spend Friday and Saturday nights at home for the first time in 20 years...doing whatever his wife and daughters wanted to do...they were surprised..after all...he was near the top... they said he'd be back in a year and he'd miss it. that guy?...it was me... 10 years ago... and I've never regetted the decision for a moment.

all good points... BUT... this isn't CYO football...if these are the best refs in the game how do they pass on a play that could likely decide the game? you have to call what's there...or there is no need to have officials at all.... a holding call would have resulted in a first down at the 2 1/2 yard line..no way to know if they would have scored...but to not call the hold/pass interference? what if a replacement ref had passed on the call early in the season ? the 'real' refs would have crowed about needing the 'real' refs...

Didn't like either team in the big game... sure looked like the 49ers got jobbed on the no-call...no chance in hell that wouldn't be called in the first quarter.... guess a couple refs had to be taken to the hospital last night to have their whistles removed from their throats. After 500 years the bones of Richard III are found... under a parking garage.... maybe we should get those guys to look for Jimmy Hoffa?

Props to Mr. Castellini... not just for the allstar game... we're lucky to have an owner who clearly loves the city and the club... As for Xavier... blaming the refs? ...c'mon...11-7 on the year...last night they held their opponent to 50% shooting while shooting 36% themselves and committing 18 turnovers.... I didn't see the game...the boxscore told me they didn't get jobbed.

1- Carter gets involved when Doc says Bush is the worst Pres of his life... sorry... that list begins and ends with Jimmy Earl...who was pathetic...and that's being nice. 2- wiretapping due to 9/11... why haven't the water walking superstars in your party changed that? ... they were right in the mix makin those changes.. but let's lay it at the feet of bush... 3- Wallstreet... you got me... but I'll argue that the honorable Barney Frank pissed away some change with Fannie and Freddie...but everyone should be able to own a home...even if they can't actually make payments...but we can ignore that. 4- and last...yep...Bush wasn't at the convention...but... only your folks had the class to boo when they tried to insert God in the democratic convention this past summer...

Jimmy had trouble making daily decisions...having to send us to war would have been much too hard for him to handle...I feel for the families of the more than 4000 that died...but today we find ourselves still in Afghanistan...and I suppose that's ok.
