<title>Womanist Musings : Feminism: The White Women Are Chatting</title>
<link>http://www.womanist-musings.com/2009/06/feminism-white-women-are-chatting.html#IDComment25244246</link>
<description>I know. Lesbian WOMEN, trans WOMEN, poor WOMEN, disabled WOMEN. I have a tendency to focus on race and gender identity because they are my two main stigmatizers (I have an invisible disability), and as a female-bodied individual who identifies as neither woman nor man, I often find myself erased from all discourse. I just think that sexual and gendered minorities come in far more varieties than just FEMALE and WOMEN. Dichotomous ideologies also tend to make us forget that transgendered individuals don&amp;#039;t always adhere to binary identities (man/woman)... transgender is an umbrella term. We can be female but not women (or men)... most often, we fall through the cracks of even the most inclusive movements. I was just urging you not to erase us from a discourse that belongs to us too :) </description>
