Big Government : A Super Tuesday Preview: Tennessee

I think the dumbocrats are shooting themselves in the foot here, despite what all the polls say, I think Santorum is the better candidate to go against Obama than Romney. Romney is too fake, not Conservative at all and Obama will be able successfully paint him as a flip flopper, as a Wall Street player, and carefree rich kid who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. We'll pretty much see 2008 2.0. Yeah, Santorum's done some things wrong, but I think it will be harder for team Obama to take him down, they'll probably only be able to target his stances on social issues which he holds the views of most of America. Newt would certainly do well also as the President, but I think Newt would better serve as the Vice-President taking the roll as attack dog for the GOP Nominee, plus I'd love to see Newt debate Biden, that would be priceless.

Big Government : GOP TX Senate Frontrunner Raises Cash from Obama Friends

While I am none too happy with your recent tirade against Rick Santorum, whom I consider to be the last decent conservative in this race for the Presidency despite his perceived flaws, as a Texan I cannot agree more with your assessment here. Mr. Shapiro is correct that Dewhurst is a RINO, I am voting for Ted Cruz.

Big Hollywood : Top 5 Country Albums of 2011

I understand what you are saying, but to say that "music styles change over time" and we must accept that is kind of silly. If I grow my hair long, wear leather and makeup, and play heavily distorted guitar and scream into a mic, am I just singing an evolution of country music or am I simply rehashing 80's heavy metal? Country music cannot be loosely defined and loosely applied any more than what defines rap music, heavy metal, or any other type of music. Yet country music is always the first victim, and usually the only victim, in this idea that music styles, and what defines it, must change. Would you say the same for Classical music? Would you say that Johann Sebastian Bach or Beethoven is outdated that that their musical styles must change over time, necessitating a newer different sounding classical music? Say something with less symphonic, not as complicated. With vocals and shorter songs, with voice attenuators heavily playing a part. We need less stringed instruments and fewer members of the band to play them, throw in more digital stuff. A lead singer with plenty of lights, fireworks, and flames surrounding her on stage. Now do we still have classical music or are we playing modern pop? Yep, modern pop. But hey, it's Classical now because we want it to be, even though it isn't, and we justify it by saying that styles change over time. Since things changes, we can call a rabbit a bat if we want!!

Personally, I don't care for his music. I think some folks equate deep voice with real country and that just isn't the case. I think he tries to copy Johnny Cash too much, but fails, and lacks a style of his own. This is merely my opinion though and I don't begrudge you for liking him or anyone else.

As a country music singer, writer, and musician I can attest that true country music is a dying art. This warmed over 70's pop of today is sickening to us real country fans. Real country is still sung by Alan Jackson, Dale Watson, James Hand, and Marty Stuart. Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, etc. are all hacks who would be more at home on a pop stage in Hollywood than the Opry stage in Nashville.

Big Government : New Evidence Says 'Yes We Cain'

Cain has said repeatedly that a 9-9-9 plan will not be signed by him unless it includes the necessary language which stipulates that none of the rates can be easily increased, I think it will require a super-majority vote of congress plus a signature of the President.

I could not disagree more. Most people I know simply like Mr. Cain due to his message, not the color of his skin. I'm not necessarily as much a Republican as I am a Conservative, but I have nothing to prove or disprove by supporting, and voting for, Herman Cain. The only thing I want is the best leader with the best Constitutional vision for our country to get us out of the hump we're in.

Big Hollywood : D.L. Hughley Launches Racial Attack on Herman Cain

While I detest the phrase "Uncle Tom" and the like, it seems more applicable to D.L. Hughley than to Mr. Cain. You are right, anyone starts thinking independently and these folks come out of the woodwork trying to call him something he isn't, while all along being a perfect tool for the left wing big government agenda, which seeks to keep the black community dependent and controlled. Do these people not see the obvious similarities between the plantation owner of the 1800's and the massive nanny state of today? Crazy world.

So, if it's Cain vs. Obama (hopeful!), then will you vote Obama just because Cain was a Class C Chairmen in 1992-1996? Also remember that it was during this same time-frame that Cain sparred with Bill Clinton about Hillary-care and destroyed the silver tongued President.

From zeesh0pper: This will put to rest his Fed "issue"... Herman Cain was a Class C director. Class C Three Class C directors also represent the public, but are appointed by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. This adds another layer to the blending of public and private control over the nation’s central bank. The Board of Governors also selects both the chairman and deputy chairman of each regional Federal Reserve Bank’s Board of Directors from among the Class C directors. These directors are highly insulated from banking relationships. They may not be an officer, director or employee of a bank or bank holding company. Additionally, these directors may not own stock in a bank or a bank holding company. Cain was selected due to his business acumen.

I will heartily disagree. If our last election taught us anything, then experience counts for nothing to the electorate. Regardless, I think Cain does possess a multitude of experience in the private sector, which in itself requires a great deal of political savvy. I simply refuse to write off someone because they've never held an elected office before, especially the Presidency. The reason is that, again, I''l maintain that the Presidency isn't just one man. If Mr. Cain were elected President, he'd certainly be smart enough to fill his staff with good Conservatives who have been on the forefront of this fight against tyranny. A President's every move is typically plotted out and his every decision gone over with his staff. I think at this point in time, our country needs an unsullied new face to bring in fresh ideas and new direction with principled Conservatism as the foundation. Thanks for the respectful, good debate, BTW! Also, thanks for the comment on my avatar, I'm a HUGE Columbo (Peter Falk) fan.
