I sense controversy for this Starlight poll.

One one hand I think the writers want to have a chance to redo the whole 'Twilight Learning About Friendship' thing. On the other if the focus of Season 6 is Starlight Learning About Friendship, well that is a problem because she is basically going to become the main character of the show and that will make her The Scrappy of this show.

I guess the writers could play it cool and just make her just another part of the 'Mane 7', but without any existing relationship to an existing character (except Twilight I guess), that would seem kind of odd. It would be hard to pull off, but this is the direction I'd like to see.

For better or worse, Starlight is probably going to be put back into Ponestown, maybe playing important rolls in the season opener and finale - but not a real main character.

Interesting that the Ponestown pones are spread throughout the image but Starlight is dead center with Twilight.

Also I think criticisms of Starlight Glimmer being a "random overpowered unicorn" are pretty misguided since she is one of two unicorns with a magic-based cutie mark AND a backstory that allows her to go nuts with magic study.

I'll make a deal with anyone that thinks this is a legit criticism: if any other unicorn is shown flying like a pegasus using pure magic than I'll admit the character is poorly written / OP / plot armor / whatever. I'll even double down on this and agree if ANY character besides Twilight or Starlight messes with a Starswirl spell during the course of the show. Honestly, an example of really bad writing would be only Twlight being able to do all this stuff because she is the main character of the show! I think Bruce Lee said that there is always someone out there better than you.

I think Starlight Glimmer is misunderstood on a couple of levels. I might make a video about it if I have time, but the short of it is that most of the criticisms of her actions were handled in the actual episodes themselves.

I'm really interested in what they do with her in Season 6. It seems they will have to do the same thing they did with Discord and throw her back into Ponestown in order to avoid Glimglim becoming the Scrappy of the show. Which is probably a shame, because there are so many interesting things they could do with the character.

I'm hoping Glimglim wins the final poll and also that we get to see a bunch of her in season 6! Such an interesting character with so much potential.
