Awesome! Welcome back. The Startup Scene here is smaller than in the Bay Area, but very active. There are usually 2-3 tech events every week and a lot of opportunities to get involved. I organize a couple of events here, so you can start @ http://www.mtlnewtech.com and I also have a calendar with a list of most of the events on that site.

When we introduced the "Tweet RSVP" we noticed a lot more participation on events (because more people would come to know about it through others RSVPs).

We were afraid the change would affect that, but so far it has NOT. So that's great.

I don't now how they got away with this for so long... I have never used any twitter app that requires password and I would never develop one that would ask for users password either.

I agree, that's why I haven't tried any of these twitter apps yet. There are some hope out there :) You can still leverage Twitter and build cool/fun/useful apps without requiring users password. That's what I've been doing with http://twtapps.com/(fresh out the oven, btw)

I'm so against sharing the way they're doing it that I wouldn't even build an app where I'd have to handle users passwords (never say never, but at least for the time being.)
