Big Government : Santorum: All Praise Income Inequality

Santorum may be right - but I fear that he is doing so in a manner that plays into the hands of Obama and the media. Barry Goldwater was right in 1964, but he got blown out, and the result was LBJ's second term that gave us the Great Society that is now bankrupting us. Santorum is a good man, he has a lot of the right ideas, but his message delivery is such that he is more likely than not to lose big to Obama, and that means Obamacare is entrenched. We cannot afford that. That's why Mitt Romney has my vote in the primary.

Big Peace : The New Congress Should Include Military Spending in Deficit Reduction

If we had maintained the Reagan-era force, rather than cut it back, we would not have had such a hard time surging troops forward. Instead, Rumsfeld got the blame for not enough troops when the Peace Dividend was the cause of the problem.

Yep. Perhaps we should learn from our mistakes in the 1930s. Re-program the stimulus money for additional procurement.

Big Peace : Election Year Pork: Boxer Defies Pentagon, Air Force with Aircraft Funding Push

I have to agree. his conduct during the F-22 debate was disingenuous at best. And then we find out the F-35 is having problems. He's a yes man. Bush wanted to win in Iraq, and Gates followed through on that. Obama wants to chop defense programs like the F-22, and Gates is trying to do just that.

While Boxer is just doing this to save her Senate seat, let's not forget that we have NO replacement in the pipeline for the C-5. One can never have too many airlift assets - and the C-17 is probably the best airlifter in the world.

Mostly the fighter pilots in this case, but I also liked "Carrier" - a great mini-series that not only reflects well on Mel Gibson, but on PBS for airing it.
