He wasn't really welcome here. Our elected officials didn't show up. There's something about seeing a narcissist who goes around snubbing people get snubbed by those he considers hayseeds that puts a smile on your face.

Apparently that is your best argument as well. Too bad, I was hoping for intelligent exchange.

Your argument does have a valid point in that the Presidents power is intended to be minimized by Congress, however, this president has been very eager to bypass Congress, and the People, at every turn. To be fair, former presidents have committed the same deceptions, but this one has used means that are just insidious. The groups that are driving OWS do not believe in individual freedom or prosperity. Their own actions and words prove that. Aren't you even a little concerned with the fact that the very politicians and 'puppet masters' that you tout are supporting the group that you've affiliated yourself with? As a business owner myself I respect the personal sacrifice that one must do to achieve such a goal, but I do not see how OWS is at all supportive of that.

Big Journalism : 'Crowdsource' This: Citizen Journalists Needed to Expose #OccupyWallStreet

It's incredible how easily persuaded most of these protesters are. Sad, really, that this country has seemed to raise whole generations of people that must have marketing strategies form their values. There is no original thought, no sense of individuality, no sense of respect, for self or otherwise. What on Earth could you possibly be thinking when you are so easily persuaded to eagerly place yourself in a situation that demands you live like rabid rodents so that you can do the dirty work of those who take from others to live like royalty rather than making any sacrifice themselves? It's confounding.

Big Government : Libertarians Have One Choice In 2012-Vote Republican

It seems as though the socialists have been infiltrating and slowly infecting the Libertarian party for quite some time now. Anyone who honestly understands the foundational ideology of libertarianism recognizes that the current democrat party is hostile to individual responsibility and liberty. Yes, the republican party is guilty of assaults on those values, but as the author suggests, not to the extreme degree that the democrats are and it's important in these times to pick your battles wisely. It may be simple semantics, but reality is that this country was intended to be a REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC, note the absence of anything resembling democracy (something honest libertarians understand as harmful).

Big Government : Will the Real Crony Capitalist Please Stand Up?

You've described exactly what I wanted to, but much more succinctly than I could have. The idea of capitalism has been so twisted and misrepresented that people no longer understand that there is a very distinct difference between free-market capitalism and oligarchical capitalism. It seems that educators are either ill-equipped or unwilling to teach basic economics honestly. The ability to grasp and practice the very basic truths of economics doesn't even seem to exist in Washington.

The media, politicians, and others existing in the den of liars are desperately trying to ignore the big, fat elephant tromping through the room.
Big Government : Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich Agree: It’s Okay for the Feds to Force Workers to Pay Tribute to Un

The problem is that what these guys say changes depending on the venue in which they're speaking. They both have track records that are not on par with constitutional values (romneycare and pushing the green agenda among others). The media and the GOP made darned sure to market McCain as a 'maverick conservative' while ignoring the very harmful policies he had been involved in. Both Romney and Gingrich are updated versions of McCain, which would almost certainly bring a second Obama term if either got the nomination. I agree that political bent can sway opinion, but these guys have set themselves up to have their every move and word questioned.

Romney and Gingrich are two examples of political scum. Their actions have been definitively socialist, yet they are quite adept at speaking 'conservative' when it serves them. Note that the video is taken from CNN. Would newt be so quick to publicly love unions in an atmosphere that actually accounts for credibility?

Big Government : Obama's Job-Killing NLRB Strikes Again! ALL* Employers Must Post Union Notices

Interesting to bring that up. I work for a company that gives an orientation to all new employees during which they explain the vision of the company, goals, etc.., as well as, of course, a code of behavior expected from both the company and it's employees. One of the things that fall under grounds for termination is any attempt to unionize or coerce fellow employees to unionize. The company attributes much of its success to refusing to unionize while nearly all other competitors chose to unionize, making it possible for our particular company to produce a superior product at a lower cost. Until last year the company was headquartered in the U.S., the avalanche of new regulations made them move headquarters to Canada, for crying out loud, CANADA, because they are a more friendly business environment. I never thought I'd see the day.

Oh yes, winter wheat after the bean harvest. Sounds like you are in the perfect climate, I'm envious. Bees are great, how wonderful! Best wishes on your greenhouse and congratulations on your tomatoes, nothing better than home grown tomatoes. Starting from seed can be very difficult, but you learn a lot about what to do (and what not to) for ideal growth. Too bad you can't get plants though. It's getting more difficult to get them here too, as many states have regulations banning certain plants from being shipped there. It has been very nice speaking with you, looking forward to seeing more of your posts, but I've got to get ready to go to the job that funds the farm now :-) Have a very nice evening.

Big Government : The Fight for the GOP Presidential Nomination

There are two subjects that none of the candidates have seriously addressed, illegal immigration and tort reform. Those two things are huge societal burdens which must be addressed if the country is going to become strong again. The candidates don't seem to be willing to take on reality and prove themselves to be strong enough, or honest enough, to take on tough issues. Until that happens we're just walking around in circles, mindlessly throwing our support to anything that's better than what we have, which usually results in something different, but rarely better.
