Hopefully with some of our members back this weekend (and us feeling more into WoW), we can work on some more raids.

Very nice on the ICC runs. I think Kazi has exclusive rights when it comes to playing Warcraft 3 with me. So you'll have to ask him for permission. ;)

Righteous Orbs : A Noble Italian call'd Signior Dildo

This hits incredibly close to home. I'm an officer in a guild of a similar nature and for a while, I was running our twice-a-week 10-man raids. We used to have a couple that would suddenly say over vent "We're going for a smoke break" and would leave the rest of us waiting for upwards of 20 minutes. This was also the same one that raged over vent because he would always be late to sign up and as a result, be benched for some of the raids. It aggravated to me the point where I actually took a break from -any- raids for a couple of weeks. More recently we've had another couple getting themselves saved to raids during the week and then QQing about how we want to do raids on the weekend that they're already locked to. Like the other night after we downed Onyxia in record time for us, everyone was on a high and wanted to go to VoA. That couple was already saved to VoA-10 (on BOTH of their 80 toons, I might add) and immediately said "Let's do 25-man". I happened to be filling in for the regular RL who couldn't make it that night and there was no way I was going to try and herd 24 cats (the majority of them being pugged players because we don't have those kind of numbers) just because these two had gotten themselves saved. In the end, they left the raid, we filled their two spots, and we had a blast in there. Anyways, I think what your particular guildies (as well as mine) need to learn is a little thing I like to call "compromise". Sometimes the group does something for you at their sacrifice, sometimes you sacrifice something for the group. I've forgotten to sign up for a raid once or twice and although I was saddened that I wasn't raiding with my friends, I would have completely refused anyone bowing out to let me in. It's okay to have your own interests, it's not okay to forget that others have them as well. Like some of the other commenters had mentioned, perhaps they were simply being thoughtless and will realize their mistake as soon as it's pointed out. At least, that's what I'm hoping. My recent post The Adventures of Kazimierz and Saraku: Hidden Tauren House and Jumping Off Tall Things

This is true, this video was taken way back when we tried it the first time. Perhaps the person with the worst lag should be the leader, so they will start out ahead of everyone else?

Playing him only once a week or so is fine. Our official rule is that as long as you log in once a month, you stay in the guild. However we always love it when people participate more. :) So go ahead and bring your shammy, we'd love to have him.

Petoholics Anonymous : Whiny Post Day

I think I've only seen pally and warriors tank that place so I can't give my opinion about the others. As for getting the mobs in range, I use the corner LOS trick and I drop a Consecrate to get aggro on all the mobs once they run to me. It seems to work every time if the rest of the group also stands in the corner. That way I don't have to rely on anyone else pulling them in for me. Although sometimes Kazi uses his Wind Shear to bring in a mage that teleported away from me. And if that doesn't work, I do throw my shield if I have to.

Petoholics Anonymous : Whiny Post Day

It's not my experience that the tank is the only one to get debuffs most of the time. >.> My shaman is also only kitted out in a couple of T9s and the rest are most level 200 epics and blues. Having said that, half the time I'm sitting there doing nothing, just keeping Earth Shield up and throwing Riptide on the warlock when they Lifetap. So I have plenty of time to debuff and I can certainly see the advantages of it. Before they nerfed Hall of Reflection, my pally tank Saraku paired up with Kazi as a healer were one of the few pairs that could actually get through the first part relatively unscathed. While healing, he would also cleanse the curses I couldn't and I would take the time out of my rotation to get rid of any wicked magical debuffs using a combination of mouseover macros and Grid. Doing this helped enormously, as I noticed a similarly geared pally who didn't cleanse magical debuffs had immense problems tanking the place even with Kazi healing.

That would be fine if I was on Blackwater Radiers and/or raided ICC 25/ToC 25. Or any 25-man raids for that matter. For a casual like me, I think I'm better off selling it. Of course, you could always buy it from me. *grins*

Don't forget how he kept pulling before the tank AKA me, even after I asked him to stop it. Maybe he thought it was okay because the "healer" was doing the same...

I never quite understood putting all your talent points into a single tree but perhaps that's because I've never played a class where that was advisable (I think that there's some specs that are like that...).
I like to use my mouseover macros and Grid because I don't have the best response time in the first place and like to get every advantage I can for the speed of my heals. Other than that, I find addons like Grid particularly useful because they immediately show me who has what debuffs so I can cleanse them if necessary, which I feel is part of good healing. If you can pick out those debuffs spread amongst the portraits, then kudos to you, man. I sure can't, not if I'm suppose to stay out of void zones at the same time. I'd say the addons/macros are much more useful on a shaman healer, who can stop half of those nasty things with their interrupts. The best resto shammy that I know (Kazi) uses that technique and after following in his footsteps, I've realized just how helpful it is.

You're most welcome. :) I'd say for tanks and dps, Omen and Recount are the minimum of what you should have. Healers I think should at least have mouseover macros so they can keep their target on the boss and see what it's casting, so you know when to get a big heal ready if you can't interrupt it.
