Could swear this has been a deja vu! Don't get excited but as a nurse in the RVH draft xtra nurses in?? They pull them in from other areas eg, theatres, icu, neuro etc to an area where staff feel incompetent and are not used to but do they care? nope, cos we are ticking the boxes. but basically we are a number. Mr Poots how many more episodes do we need???? Reopen the city a + e!! And i still havent had a right pay since Nov. And as for the 'patient flow manager and her clipboard'? maybe if they rolled their sleeves up and got in there!

One half of your views i agree the other i feel very angry. The other you do you sound very angry. Seemingly u ain't in the country practicing "There is no substitute for learning by doing. So my heart goes out to the nurses and staff who are giving excellent care and to the rest I would suggest they find alternate employment, the patients deserve better." patients still need care.

Thank you for your kind words. I don't look praise as i look upon it as my job. it just maddens me when people tar us all with the one brush. I know theres many out there that i often shake my head and wonder why are they in the profession! And as you say 12 hrs turns into 14/16. Happens so often. We don't get paid for that xtra hr or 2. Its all down to our Conscience to our colleagues and patient we cannot walk away.

i read this story last night in work. on one of a rare break.! I turned to my colleagues and said i want to take this wee pet home to pamper, spoil and give full devotion. This happens so often i want to adopt half my patients. What i have carried thru my nursing career is every patient is someones mum/dad/ brother/sister etc.

i honestly believe we should have a health system like the south of ireland where you pay for all. Then the drunks wouldn't be using ambulances as a taxi service as they do now.
