Two third of the "millionaires" are small businesses who are fighting to exist in this anti-business climate. They are the folks that employ people. The comments I am reading show a lack of understanding about how an economy works. If you want people employed, make it easier for the people who employ them.

Perhaps you should do some research on this particular charity and see just how much of that money goes toward the cause. I think you would be surprised.

You have to be kidding. For most of the kids, this is not about breast cancer awareness, but is just silly adolescents disrupting the learning process. Leave these things out of the classrooms and lets get back to education.

Excellent example of taxing the "rich". In our state, three large boatbuilders went bankrupt because of this tax, and perhaps more importantly, many of the businesses that support the boating public either folded or had to lay off employees. It is an example of the short-sighted thinking of government. And people fall for it because of class envy.

Thank goodness someone is fighting the Nickerson St. rechannelization idea. We just drove that route and even with two lanes, traffic was tied up coming off the Fremont Bridge. The last thing we need is the road reduced to one lane each way.

We are from Seattle and are now in Phoenix visiting for 5 days. It is a lovely city and the people are great. Seattle City Council people are morons and an embarrassment to us as Washingtonians. They know nothing of this law or of the problems facing this state from illegal immigrants. What do they not understand about ILLEGAL?

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Vaccine runs out at Snohomish Co. flu clinics | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weath

King County gave 3,000 doses (of the 70,500 doses it received mid Oct) to uninsured people at its four clinics. Insured people were told to go to their providers and get it. Unfortunately, it seems most providers didn't receive it. So where are the remainder of the doses King County received? Nobody seems able to answer that question at KC public health dept. Some investigative news reporter should be looking into this.

I completely agree. King County Public Health Dept. has been particularly silent on the location of the providers who have received vaccine. They vaccinated only 3,000 uninsured people in a 5 day clinic last week, and told insured high risk people to contact their providers. We talked to Evergreen Hospital, Overlake Hospital, Swedish Hospital (who did get some earlier for HC providers), several pediatric clinics and OB-gyn clinics, and nobody had received the vaccine. Why can't the public health dept. tell people where to go if they are not going to have vaccine clinics themselves. I am tired of hearing about the shortage. The 74,500 doses King County received mid Oct. is somewhere. Please news reporters, look into the dispersal problems in King county.

I agree that there is a panic mentality regarding the swine flu. However, it is true that pregnant women have been hit particularly hard by this flu, with an disproportionate number dying in their third trimester. Young kids are also getting very sick with this bug. And it is not the variety that affects the elderly and infirm in normal seasons. I think that people are correct in being concerned, but I wish they would respect the priority guidelines of the CDC and let the people most at risk get vaccinated first.

Snohomish county is valiantly trying to vaccinate thousands from King County who have been unable to get vaccine from their own Public Health dept. The 3,000 doses that King County dispensed, went to uninsured individuals, leaving thousands of high risk people (including pregnant women and small children) unprotected. They tell you to go to your own provider if you are insured, but very few of them have received anything. Where have the 67,000 doses delivered to King county in mid-October gone? Kudos to Snohomish county for protecting King County residents.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Snohomish Co grossly short on H1N1 vaccine | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weather-

Last week KIng County health dept was giving H1N1 vaccine at four sites, but only to uninsured individuals. If you had insurance, they told you to go to your provider (although most hadn't received any vaccine). Go figure - they don't seem to understand the CDC protocol for highest risk patients.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Life after the swine flu vaccine | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weather - Seattle,

In King County they are only giving H1N1 to high risk individuals without insurance. (see their website) They will tell you to contact your provider if you have insurance (even though most do not have the vaccine). They do not ask individuals to show they are at high risk, nor do they ask for proof of citizenship, therefore most anyone without insurance can get it at KC public health. I don't know how they determine whether you have insurance. You may have to sign something. I think this is so wrong on so many levels.

My pregnant daughter would love to get the H1N1 vaccine, but because she is insured, is not able to get it from KC public health, and her provider hasn't received it. After calling several hospitals and other providers, nobody seems to have received it (except for some doses for the health care providers.) I know there is a shortage, but where has it all gone? And why can't someone at the highest risk get it?

KOMO - Seattle, WA :

King County Public Health Dept. has received doses of H1N1 vaccine, but is only giving it to uninsured people. Our six month pregnant daughter who is insured, is not allowed to get it there, even though her provider (and hospital) don't have the vaccine yet. . Why is the PUBLIC health dept. not following CDC protocol and giving the vaccine to high risk patients, insured or not? It appears that Snohomish and Whatcom county are not allocating the vaccine in this manner. What happened to Public Health for ALL the public?
