16 years ago @ WOODTV.com - Couple claims bait car... · 0 replies · +3 points

I feel the same way. I would have done the same thing. Now, if he had snooped through the car after only 1 day I might be hesitant to come to his defense. He waited longer than I would have waited. Especially considering the items in the vehicle. It sounded like foul play to me and I would have wore gloves also. I cannot imagine he would get prosecuted considering he talked to a few of his neighbors and they were all concerned - he was just the poor soul who did something about it. It's obvious after that many days the police were not going to. I live in a small community and if I see a vehicle that is not familiar sitting in a spot for more than several hours I am on the phone with our local police to have them run the plates and check it out: for the safety of our community. This is quite rediculous. If they want to "bait" a car - why not leave the windows half down parked at a mall for a few hours. I had my car broken into downtown GR and I had just left it 15 monites prior... doors lock and all! There are other ways to effectively "bait" a vehicle!
