True, true. I agree with you on the last part of that. I DO agree with the writer that with most people, "They have little idea of worship in vocation, in family, in ordinary work or in silence." Good point. and actually something I have been thinking about lately. Much love :)

"Jesus shaped worship" meaning how Jesus looks to him because of the situations in which he was brought up? How are we defining "Jesus shaped worship?" Are there problems within the evangelical church? No doubt about it. There is a lot of "church" that sickens me, but I think when we look to evaluate a big portion of the Christian church experience, it is helpful to remember that none of us are exactly unbiased. His form of Jesus is greatly influenced by his background, upbringing, social interactions etc. As are all of our perspectives. I am neither in favor of a "big show," as he put it, nor am I am favor of zombie like repetitious prayer. I think there can be a good mix with the two. One last thought. Why are we demonizing excellence in musical performance when that is exactly what many strive for in every other area of the Christ centered life?
