Two big misconceptions about Judaism, however.
Jews do NOT believe they are here to rule the earth. Jews believe they are in a a partnership with God to spread God's teachings to improve the world. The concept of choseness reflects this responsibility. It has NOTHING whatsoever to do with ruling others but to its objective is spreading the word of God through concepts like ethical monotheism, the Ten Commandments, and so on.

Two- Judaism always focuses on this life and improving the world and ourselves now. This is a concept known as tikkun olam. Salvation is found through goodness and good deeds, not by faith. Jews DO believe in being judged by God after death and having one's actions in life reviewed.
