She's pretty quiet and I don't know her that well, but I suspect that they would! I LOVED Lumberjanes. Will check out Unbeatable Squirrel Girl!

Oh, she really liked The Art of Racing In The Rain so I think she'd love A Dog's Purpose. Thanks for the suggestions!

I just looked up Into The Wilderness and it sounds perfect for my mom - she loves Last Of The Mohicans, too! Thanks!

I recently learned that in Iceland, there is a tradition of exchanging books on Christmas Eve, and everyone retreats to bed to read and eat chocolate. I love that, so I've decided to start observing this tradition myself! Everyone on my list is receiving books for Christmas Eve.

I'm getting Lafayette in the Somewhat United States for my Hamilton-obsessed boyfriend (already got him the Hamilton biography for his birthday earlier this month) and West With The Night for my aviation-obsessed dad. However, I still need book ideas for the rest of my family.

My mom: elementary school teacher, loves Outlander and historical romances
My brother: geek/programmer, loved The Martian and Game of Thrones
Brother’s girlfriend: likes cute things, Adventure Time (was thinking maybe Nimona?)
Boyfriend's sister: loves dogs (got her Mary Oliver's Dog Songs last year)

Any suggestions, bookish Toasties?

I was going to cast Rosamund Pike but she's about a decade older than Anna would have been then. Maybe she can play her in the scene where they meet again by chance at a party and exchange meaningful glances across the room?

I have a bad cold, and I'm using it as an opportunity to take very good care of myself. I am drinking endless cups of cold care tea and hot toddies with bourbon, making lots of citrus smoothies, eating mint chip ice cream, and watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Lars and the Real Girl, and Empire Records with my cat. Right now I'm making a carrot coconut soup with sriracha and lime that Orangette posted recently.

Oh man, let us know how it goes! I'm fascinated by Korean spas and really want to go to one.
