Mr Low, I've done medical law during my degree days, and one of my favorite but not strongest topic was abortion.

I suggest reading/searching the following to expand your knowledge for the subject matter:-

1. Russia's use of abortion as birth control.
2. The Violinist Theory.
3. The reason why (and the limit/terms) of abortion is legal in the UK and other countries.
4. The limit of when physical deformity (or threat to the mom/carrier) is acceptable for a reason for abortion.
5. Abortion on demand

now back to your post, honestly I have no idea how it must have felt to hear your mom uttered those words to you, it must have been devastating. in my opinion (putting aside all ethical and pros & cons debate), the real question shouldn't be legalize vs criminalize (to me i lean on legalize but subject to the terms set out in the UK legislation), but how to educate the public to be more responsible. I remember reading a statistic paper in the UK regarding abortion, there was this same woman who had an abortion 4 times that year. And the numbers of abortion are staggering, up to a population of a town nearby where i studied.

Didn't we have our own homemade abortion in Malaysia as well which took the form of baby dumping? Isn't that more dangerous than abortion as that goes through the process of child birth which itself is dangerous? Where as abortions are mostly safer (pill or vacuum)

I personally believe abortion should be legal, that doesn't mean i encourage people to abort.

Maybe that's the game? He's Najib's card to stay as PM.

It is in my opinion that just because the policy makers chooses to legalize something, they do so because it is good policy (in an ideal world of course). Just because an MP chooses to legalize LGBT in this country doesn't mean that they're giving out the message that it's OK to be a homosexual and everyone should be one. They do it because for policy reasons. So to me, PAS can legalize LGBT while maintaining their stand on trying to curb down LGBT and Apostasy.

Was shocked that no one attacked Datuk Seri Noh Omar on the Government's stand on legalizing tobacco and sugar consumption (which leads to a lot of health problems). If he gives the excuse that they're being highly taxed and regulated, then why not the LGBT be taxed for their marriage as well.
