<title>Ed Schipul : Just Because You Are Smart Doesn&#039;t Mean Your Opinion Matters</title>
<link>http://eschipul.com/2009/01/just-because-you-are-smart-doesnt-mean-your-opinion-matters/#IDComment14433368</link>
<description>The original post definitely describes a lot of what I&amp;#039;ve seen, and experienced, over the years. (Both on the giving &amp;amp; receiving end of being ignored and/or wrong.) And if it makes you feel any better, regarding #3, I was once the young programmer, and I was right. But was I able to convince people that I was right? Well, no... &amp;ldquo;Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill&amp;rdquo; indeed! And regarding @Jerri&amp;#039;s comment, a thought: it must be a sign of the times to mention Mark Zuckerberg. Back in the day, the example people would throw out was Bill Gates dropping out of Hahvahd... Getting old, I guess... :-) </description>
