KATU - Portland, OR : Mayor decides now isn\'t the time for a bag tax | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | News

A fart tax would be a major component of the larger carbon footprint tax. When the unemployment rate drops back to 10% he'll be talking about bag tax and bridge tolls again. It will be confusing. The streets will have been renamed, for people that don't live here, and the bridges too. This is the kind of sound thinking that will lead us into the future- Go Sam.

Don't worry, any design mistakes and cost overruns won't happen for another ten years at which point we'll need another bridge. Cheer up, the worst is yet to come. About money spent recently: I saw snowplows during our recent snowstorm but they were all on TV.

tr28 apparently doesn't like proven solutions and I am glad footballmama isn't in charge. The four day work week makes perfect sense and they can prove it- cool. I don't mind paying superintendents a 6-figure salary because they have to listen to the sometimes clueless public and smile about it.

KATU - Portland, OR : Shooting banned in Central Oregon subdivision | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | News

Hundreds of .5 acre lots is NOT RURAL. I have personally driven 90% of the roads between Sun River and La Pine. There are pockets of woods but it's mostly homes and even a lowly .22rimfire will travel a mile and kill someone. The only time they should be allowed to shoot at night is when there's a coyote, or some other critter, threatening their domesticated animals.

Most of those homes are on .5 acre lots and it's madness to shoot near them. I am an avid shooter and know for certain there are some $hit for brains people carrying guns. Good for most everyone- finally some peace. There's buckets of national forest land that's still available a VERY SHORT distance from Sun River.... I know it because I have been there recently.

Absolutely make the law. It initially sounds trivial and as taxpayer it would normally get a NO NOD from me but this is personal. I worked as a car salesperson selling Ford and Hyundai cars this year, for the first time ever in my life, and they should close one day per week. There's no sense in 24-7-365. I'd be asked to come in on my days off , and did, and all holidays are mandatory even if it was your scheduled day off. Their schdule sucks but the work is Okay. The law is a GREAT IDEA, it will pass, car salespeople will be delighted and appropriately represented in an otherwise harsh environment of silly scheduling and constant verbal harrassment from other employees.

They make this sound too easy...be sure to Call Ahead. "North Entrance Road and Rim Drive are now CLOSED for the season. Highway 62 through the park and the road to park headquarters and Rim Village remain OPEN. However, snowy and icy road conditions can occur at this time of year, resulting in temporary road closures. Please call ahead for the most current weather and road information." *Source: <a href="http://www.nps.gov/crla/planyourvisit/th... " target="_blank">http://www.nps.gov/crla/planyourvisit/things2know...

1) The Northwest Forest Pass is double taxation and a cruel joke. 2) For my wife and I the last visit to Miller Lake in Central OR was a total drag becuase of generators running until 11:00PM There are so many dangerous/inconsiderate fools running about that we ALWAYS travel, camp and hike well armed.
