Hooniverse : Hooniverse Asks- What Car Company Should Buy What Car Company?

Volkswagen should buy Mitsubishi. It gives them automatic access to the JDM, helps build their rally chops (if Mitsu even has those chops left) and would breathe life into zombie automaker.

Ironically, amongst the dismal specter of life in 1974, it was a German company who added brightness to the picture.

Hooniverse : 2015 Chicago Auto Show: the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo

I love Nissan's approach. The car is intimidating as hell to look at, and hopefully it pushes Audi and Peugeot to greater things. Here's one without all the body panels.

Since all the really great greats have been mentioned already, I'll throw Robby Gordon in the mix. Sure, he can be a complete jerk, but he's a modern equivalent of the "I'll race anything" guys of the past. He's raced in NASCAR, CART, IndyCar, Trans-Am, IMSA, IROC and Dakar Rally. He's raced Baja in both 500 and 1000 formats. With IMSA he's raced in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring scoring multiple class wins in both. Overlooking his volcanic personality, he's a damn fine racer.

These were available when new from Meyers and other aftermarket sources. I'm not sure if the factory put out any half cabs, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did a short run. These are getting to be more popular with the CJ crowd again, and even the Wrangler guys are getting in on the half cab craziness.

With the miniengineerd™ here and my parents coming into town this weekend to visit, I sadly will miss Sno*Drift again. There's always next year... Fun fact, I've met David Higgins. Super nice guy and an awesome driver. I like to root for him, but now that he's a defending champ and driving with full factory support it makes it feel...I don't know...too easy?

The Ford Falcon was built up to 1960 to 1970 in the US. That 1960 model was also built in Australia. In early 1962, however, the Down Under Falcon was starting to diverge from its Merican kin. In 1964, while the NA Falcon was still in production, Ford of Oz designed their own Falcon and have been doing so ever since.
