Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent through 4/22

At a recent 912project meeting I was disappointing to see a "Fair Tax" movement coordinator/promoter and a Republican party member both trying to use the 912 project as a platform to promote their political agenda's. Both of which i suggested the 912 project was not a 're-elect' so an so campaign or a 'support' this idea or that idea platform. It is for us to get together and discuss the issues, learn our history and steer our own course. So folks, if you run into this, please don't allow the temptation to follow them to persuade you. If you don't like Obama, fine, but don't allow that to make your 912 meeting be about electing the next RNC candidate. And vise versa. THAT IS THE PROBLEM! We need to take a step back and really think about this.

The Free Market System did not fail -- for those who just don't get it -- a system which had various government controls and regulations built on money being printed, controlled and interest rates determined by the FED is NOT a Free Market. What failed was the government controlled system. Want to fix it? Banish the FED and any similar activity and back the US dollar with Gold and Silver (and perhaps other precious metals).

Try letting the free market system work. If gas prices are a problem, allow the production of more gas -- it's really that simple.

No need to. It only hurts their party to do that and if they do they do -- but they would have to actually go in an re-register under the other party -- then if they wanted to change back they would have to do so again. It might even be possible to require something (like a donation) to be a member of a party (any party) after all, you have to pay to join Boy Scouts don't you? Personally I think all 912'ers should register as INDEPENDENT since we don't have anyone that represents us anyway.

Sorry a human being is a human being when they are conceived. Don't deceive yourself. Heck it isn't even a religious thing -- it's just common sense. Once conception has been completed there is no possible conclusion since the embryo will develop into a living, breathing human being over the course of gestation. There is no other course barring illness or medial problem. It's not something we can even debate -- to argue would be to suggest a human egg and sperm could produce a dog. It can't, it's a human. Now, the Egg is not a human being, it's an egg and the sperm is not a human being it's a sperm, but you combine the two through conception and guess what? You have a human -- no other way to look at it -- even if you don't like it. I don't like beans but they exits.

What about the independently wealthy ones? Washington didn't need to work so I wouldn't want to require them to have jobs. I just wouldn't pay them that well.

Require that all primaries in all states be run in this fashion: If you are not in a party you may not vote for someone in a party to represent you. It's simple: 1. If you are a Democrat you may vote for a Democrat to Represent you. 2. If you are a Republican you may vote for a Republican to Represent you. 3. If you are a Libertarian you may vote for a Libertarian to Represent you. 4. If you do not have a party you do not need to vote in the PRIMARY since it does not concern you. Primaries are for people to decide who will represent them in the up coming election. It makes absolutely NO SENSE for an Independent to vote in a primary. It makes no sense to allow a Republican to vote in a Democrat primary since they aren't a Democrat. This seems hard for people to understand but it's kind of like having Boy Scouts vote to decide who will lead the Girl Scouts. DOH!

Phase out Social Security. If you start with people under the age of 45 they have a chance to plan for their retirement -- and stop charging them for it by the way. It's simple, the government is not there to enrich you so stop counting on it and get out!

Ye-Gads No! Who's going to pay them? Me? No way! That's just MORE TAXES. The Government does not create jobs -- in any way shape or form, therefore leave them out of it! If over 50 people want to work, let them -- it's a FREE MARKET. But if you want to fix the system tell all people under the age of 45 they WILL NOT get Social Security and phase it out.

Don't know of any national property taxes (is there such a thing?) but no problem -- I think this should be a constitutional change that clearly states something to this affect. "You don't pay it, you don't vote on it's use" Period. :)

No one being paid to work with tax payers money should pay taxes -- this seems to me to be kinda dumb. Instead, however, they should NEVER be paid more then what the average wage in society is. So for example, if a plumber makes $22/hr on average in Kansas City then city plumbers can not make more then $22/hr MINUS the tax difference (in other words thier take home pay should be the same as the non-government plumbers take home who makes $22./hr And even if the average is $15/hr but some top plumbers NOT in Government are making $45 -- tough. You don't make a career out of government you do it to serve. Try remembering that.

Ahhh sorry but I believe the Electoral College was a good idea and has proven it's genius time and again. By removing it we will be stuck in a form of electing people which allows factions to dominate the elections (in this case big City Centers) -- in fact, removing the Electoral College is kinda like removing the vote from all states except CA and NY -- the results would be the same anyway.

Require all Bills/Laws to be written in plain American English and to be no greater then x number of pages (maybe 25?) -- outlaw referring to any other bill in a new bill (attempt to shorten). I really dislike the term "Lawmaker" becuase I figure after more then 230 years I think we have too many laws. So maybe we should have LAW TAKERS -- elected officials whose soul responsibility is to find laws to REMOVE.

You miss the point entirely. Sorry. Property tax issues are not related to general elections! This is local stuff in all cases -- like a school board bond to pay for renovating a school. They use property taxes to do this and anyone can vote for it -- despite not even paying it. Has noting to do with the Commander in Chief or the military.

Civilian Oversight -- a Civilian Panel appointed by randomly choosing 1 Civilian who is not in public service in any capacity from each state -- these citizens then would be required to be available (like a Jury) to provide oversight of the Supreme Court and the Federal (or state) governments during the year. Basically they can raise the alarm when they think something does not jive with the Constitution and congress must appropriate funds to provide them a legal team to take the case to the Supreme Court, Congress or the executive branch in order to get action taken. For example: if a panel of 11 members (or whatever) determined that the National Firearms act of 1934 was Unconstitutional (it is) they could demand the case be re-opened and re-evaluated by the Supreme Court. Or if they felt a decision of the Supreme Court was not in standing with the Constitution they could require the Congress to debate the issue publicly etc etc.
