There is every reason to be distressed. Our government is corrupt, the corporations are in charge, the weather patterns are getting more devastating, we live in about the only place that doesn't acknowledge climate change, there are hate groups coming out of the woodwork, the income inequality is affecting most of the nation, the stock market just keeps on soaring but doesn't really affect most people, the student loan debt is overwhelming a whole generation, the infrastructure is crumbling and we are living under the possible threat of a nuclear war, seniors and low income people have the worry of losing social security and other programs that allow them to live with some semblance of dignity and nearly everyone is wondering if they will have health care they can afford. America is becoming less great day by day. Hope is very slim and when all of the above is wrapped up in a bundle it becomes a very heavy load to carry around. The stress is heightened when voting is the only option available and even that is being dealt blows with voter suppression. There may have been a time when life was less stressful but certainly not in the lifetimes of those living today.
