Which is why I plan to homeschool my children and educate them myself. Children are precious, and we obviously can't trust the states and government ot educate them properly esp. since the education system seems to be doing worse than in any other part of the world. So if we want our kids educated we need to take a greater role in thier life and teach them the values we want them ot have. You don't have to home school your kids to do it, just converse around the dinner table or whatever. Every little bit will help them know thier own mind, then when they are confronted in college or in the world with things that are against those beliefs such as liberalism, then they will be able to stand up and defend thier position, and they will have loud clear voices!
Its too bad that none of the politicians ivy league educations did them any good. They seem to have missed a great deal in thier education on the founding of this country and American history, either that or they were goofing off, b/c it is apparent they took nothing with them, or they wouldn't have such a blatent disregard for the lessons taught to us and the freedoms granted us at such a high cost. They lack appreciation and understanding of what it is they are apart of.
Its very true we are less than what they were because they didn't have the option of taking things for granted like we do today. They didn't always have the option of a formal education or even getting to make thier own choices, until after they left england. So is it any wonder they educated themselves as well as they could and knew exactly what they didn't want? Maybe someday these taking things for granted entitled people will learn to appreciate thier freedoms when they are all lost, and educate themselves and take up thier voice and use it the way were trying to now.
I agree, no war was ever won in a day, and if its something you really believe in, then you will fight for it until you haven't breath in your body to do so anymore. I will do all I can until the day I die trying to effect some change in the way the government runs nowand to preserve the constitution, for future generations. Just remeber Franklin could have given up trying to create light, but everytime he failed he saw it as just another way that didn't work and kept going till he had won. Lincoln ran for president so many times and lost, but he kept going and finally did it! And look how great these men were! They wouldn't be half as great if they had just given up, and we shouldn't give up either, we have the potential to do great things if we just keep going.
I have heard that congress doesn't read e-mails, does anyone know if this is true? I want my voice to be heard not ignored, and if they ignore e-mails I will mail out letters or make phone calls.
This is a cool idea I think. Everyone is always wanting someone to do something, and this is a wayto change things around for people locally. It will help everyone the small businesses and the people who also need services done. Bravo for these people who have taken a bad situation and tried to do something positive, not jsut complan but actually do something about what is happening to them. Everyone wins.
Yeah like cutting defense is a good idea w/ N. Korea breathing down our necks and all those terrorists still out there on the large, and the people he let out onto our streets from guantanomo Bay. Its people like him who didn't see the bombing of pearl harbor coming, who didn't listen or pay attention when planes were flown into the world trade center and almost into the pentagon and white house. What will it take for these yahoo's to take our defense seriously? There are to many people/ countries out there who hate our guts and wouldn't think twice about toasting us esp. if we don't have enough defense b/c Obama would rather cut defense and pay civilians to do volunteer work.
Well it would be nice if somone who knows how to navigate the court system, would just represent the American people, or even us 9-12ers. I mean I am sure there are those of us who have lost jobs or been effected. and even if there weren't since when does that keep someone from filing a law suit against the Obama administration for breaking thier oath to defend the constitution? Heck, I would file if I knew what to do. Adn I think we are gettign organized and taking a step in the right direction. We are letting our voices be heard and creating protest rally's all over the country, were calling and writing our represenatives, and were all ehre on this board standing together to come up with some real ideas for change, that we will then fight for. Maybe things won't change all at once, but all I know for sure is that Obama is sitting on a tinder box of outrage, and his whole administration is gonna get blown away if he doesn't stop and listen and change course pronto.
I say let the companies get audited, most of them are not doing anything illegal and have nothing to hide. So what do they need to be afraid of? When the government first tried to force them to take the money, should have been thier first clue ot run the opposite direction, but we should be grateful that not all of the private sector jumped into this thing. after all anyone can start up a bank at anytime, and not accept TARP funds from the get go and avoid the whole thing all together. Our financial industry is not lost yet if we can get some corporate people who won't be bullied to take a stand and do what needs to be done even in the face of adversity.
So true. I got two words for all of you. Food Storage. And don't forget your seeds. And your right about socilized medicine, I can't tell you how many europeans I know who hate thier socialized medicine. Look at this way people who are medicare now, are only allowed to have pre-approved medicine and your only allowed 3 prescriptions, not by a doctor but by the government, adn they only let you have so many pills, even if you need them. And thats just the prescription part of it, I hate to imagine what they would put you through for surgery or anything else. I think at that point it would just be better to suffer and die then to let them dictate to me what my medical needs are.
