As much as I'd love to complain and complain about Apple's Orwellian policies, I say good riddance. I'd be hard pressed to find a more useless app genre.

I've been using Droidbox for Android ever since it was released, and to tell you the truth, it's incredible. I'm surprised no one has said anything about it. If you want Dropbox, try it out, because it's as good as I think this official client could be.

You could always just adb push the boot.gif to your current Android ROM, if your phone is rooted. Here, I've compiled and uploaded the boot.gif straight from the system dump.

I'm looking at the Android 2.1 (codename Flan) system dump right now, and I don't think it will be possible. At least, not on the G1/myTouch 3G. I'm going through it to see what else I can find, though.
