brown didn't call whitman a whore....he called her a political whore....big difference. it had nothing to do with her "breasts and fancy womb". how can you make flase charges like this and then turn around and claim that you "don't relish victim-hood (sic)" ? as another great feminist icon used to say, "you're soaking in it."

The Heritage Foundry : Gay Marriage and the Golden Rule

those who pushed for DOMA were not saying how they wanted to be treated but rather how they wanted gay citizens to be treated...the golden rule in reverse. straight folks already had marriage rights and nobody was talking about stripping them of those rights. this so-called "defense of tradition" was about keeping a certain segment of society from joining in those traditions.

Hyscience : Franklin Graham: \'Obama shook fist at God by supporting same-sex marriage\' :: Political News and c

what poppycock ! an "8000-year-old definition" ?? what the heck are you talking about ? what event do you believe took place 8000 years ago ? you do know, of course, that the meaning and social understanding of marriage has changed many, many times over the centuries and in various cultures. what we are talking about now, here in 2012, is legal rights and responsibilities granted under the american constitution which does not allow unequal treatment of our citizens. marriage licenses are issued by the state, not the vatican. we do not live in a theocracy. your religious bias is not grounds for denying millions of americans their constitutional rights.

http://www.bluecollarphilosophy.com/ : Dan Savage Defending Himself On Twitter Of Bullying Of Christian Students; Issues Non-Apology Apolog

freedom of religion: you get to believe whatever you want to believe and other people get to say that what you believe in is a bunch of bull. that's how it works. considering that most of the country self-identifies as some variety of christian and with a christian church on practically every other corner from coast to coast, claiming that christians are somehow being persecuted in this country is kinda ridiculous.

Commentary Magazine : Ham Sandwiches and Religious Freedom

look, we’re not talking about contraceptives for convents here. nobody is asking them to hand out birth control pills and rubbers at the church door. the catholics want it both ways: they want to run public businesses in the secular sphere but then cry religious intolerance when they are expected to follow the same rules as other businesses. if their catholic employees were not availing themselves of the insurance coverage then there would be no issue but we know that most catholics do use contraceptives despite their church’s teaching and when the catholics hire employees who are not of their faith, those employees deserve the same coverage they would have if they were working for any other business. we can't allow every employer to claim 'religious liberty' in order to pick and choose which laws covering hiring and employment they will follow.

Big Hollywood : 'The Iron Lady' Review: Slandering Lady Thatcher's Legacy as Only Hollywood Can

jeeze louise, c.c.johnson... it's a MOVIE not a 36-part documentary. there's a certain amount of artistic license taken, as there usually is in biopics (after all, we couldn't possibly know every intimate detail and verbatim conversation of the subject) but those close to thatcher have praised streep's portrayal and, while they may quibble with certain details, have not found any major errors in the history portrayed. comparing this movie to tina fey's cheap, satiric take on palin is ridiculous.
