WTIC FOX CT : FAA Investigating Possible Illegal Use Of Drone At Hartford Crash Scene

Don't forget that bullets shot into the air eventually fall, potentially injuring / killing people. Cops may miss multiple times with shots before hitting the drone, and this missed shots could be very dangerous.

The Heritage Foundry : Zero Dark Thirty: Hollywood Hunts Bin Laden

Terrorists, for many years were waging war on us but we were not effectively waging war on them. I don't support never-ending wars but I don't support complete isolationism either. Which is why as much as I dislike Obama I think he has done a fine job with our war on terror - especially with the use of drones and drone strikes. Through drones the primitive Muslims see that we are not "occupiers" but yet we have a major advantage in the skies. We can also use our CIA and special forces to conduct covert operations without our military actually occupying anything. So while the radical right-wing may wish us to have a major military presence forever in the Arab world I think Obama has done a good job with the use of special forces, the CIA, and drones.

The Heritage Foundry : U.S. Should Augment Missile Defenses in Asia

The Heritage Foundation promotes defense spending like Obama promotes the social welfare state: zero fiscal responsibility, zero shared sacrifice by the recipients of the benefits. It is disgraceful how the US still has a myriad of military installations overseas that are paid for 100 percent by the US taxpayer - and we get nothing in return while all these other countries benefit by being able to spend their tax dollars elsewhere. Time to tell these countries to pay up or shut down bases.

If you read the post "Setting the Record Straight on Military Spending Levels" at the Cato Institute's website, it is clear this GOP alarmism is disgusting and pathetic. Screaming about defense spending that will simply go back to 2007 levels is disgraceful. Representative McKeon should be removed from office.
Yes he would sit on the Pelosi sofa again if the country was turned around and America was restored. At this point, I think he understands our country is in major trouble and there is a tremendous amount of work to be done to just get America back to the way it was when he sat on the couch the first time. Romney will tremble in his shoes the minute the media and Democrat smear machine turns on him - he would wave the white flag of surrender immediately, say "oh well I tried", then schedule photo ops and commercials with Democrats.

I totally agree. If Romney were elected and the media turned on him with their smears (not a matter of if but when) he will quiver in his shoes and spend the rest of his term pandering to them. He will fire people the media doesn't like, refine legislation the media doesn't like, everything he does will be focus-grouped and polished to be the least offensive to the media and Democrats. The reality is, the Democrats really don't like each other --- but they definitely HATE conservatives and there is NOTHING a conservative can ever do to really live in harmony with Democrats. Democrats need hard boundaries to live in otherwise they will wear you out because you can never satisfy them - they are always unhappy (contrary to the charade they may play).

And you are part of the problem America has been in decline for so long. You say "He makes my skin crawl just looking at him" but offer no discussion of ideas. You are part of the dumbed down majority able to be influenced and pushed around by media sound bites and Democratic party smears. You actually have been voting for Democrats your whole life because they make you feel good inside by how smart and polished they look and how they bash and smear people you secretly envy & promise to make you feel better with all the promises they never deliver.

Newt Gingrich has spent most of his professional life as a politician involved in the cogs and gears of government ultimately trying to advance conservative ideology; Mitt Romney has been an elite businessman with an elite education most of his professional life who only in recent years has gotten into politics. His campaigns are polished and focus-grouped, but he obviously lacks the ability to espouse conservatism like Newt, and one wonders if push comes to shove, how hard he would really fight for us.....because the Democratic bash and smear machine is getting ready....the never ending charges of being insensitive, intolerant, hurtful, mean-spirited, draconian, narrow-minded, homophobic, bigoted, greedy ---- that sludge has only begun to be defacated from Obama, the DNC and the media.

The Heritage Foundry : Have You Been Negatively Affected by Regulatory Overreach? Tell Us About It

Regulations, like laws, are enacted a lot of times because "a bad apple spoils the bunch". The group must be punished for the sins/mistakes of a few. But like gun laws, one has to wonder if a bad actor's conduct were able to be stopped if the regulations and laws were in place before the activity took place? In some cases yes, many others no. So, I am not opposed to all regulation - I am opposed to organizational stupidity which often occurs as governments implement their regulations. Make regulations pragmatic, fair, and flexible, and create/implement them only if absolutely necessary.
